Xplore made its debut in the campervan arena with this model, initially launched to great acclaim in October last year. However, now production and specification has been confirmed.

The exterior is striking with distinctive decals and exterior features, including cool black 16in alloy wheels.

This suits the black metallic exterior, while colour-coded wheelarch extensions, mud flaps and front grille enhance that rugged off-road feel.

The contour lines on the exterior are neatly reflected on the inside, too, with matching stitched headrests on the seats.

The kitchen extends into the sliding door aperture. This maximises the space available, but is also an efficient way of venting food smells outside when that door is open.

If the rain sets in, deploy the optional awning and you can cook as if you were al fresco, but on a Thetford Triplex cooker offering three gas burners and oven and a grill.

The 84-litre fridge is set higher, just like many domestic fridges – you won’t need to kneel on the floor to try and find your nicely chilled drinks!

The washroom opposite is a simple affair, but contemporary details, like the countertop basin and matt black fittings, bring it right up to date.

Those smart black details are extended throughout with cupboard handles, reading lights and the kitchen tap all tying in.

At the back, a second lounge is a welcome addition – park the kids up front with games or devices and parents can settle down in comfort.

This makes two single beds or a large double. The second double bed is in the pop-top roof. This roof, made by the Erwin Hymer Group, has a larger bed than in the lounge and it’s on a slatted base for extra comfort and ventilation.

Plus, a Midi Heki rooflight allows light to flood into the lounge, even when the roof is down.

All in all, this is one fun and stylish campervan for the active family or couple.

Xplore is targeted at the active and sporty demographic and the new CV X5 really delivers... all the style and attributes of the brand and, for this new model, abundant space at the rear for bikes and sports kit.

That’s very obvious from the outset with smart contour graphics on a black metallic exterior.

It’s based on the Fiat Ducato, which comes with a whole load of safety systems as standard for the season ahead.

This all-new CV X5 promises all the benefits of the X8, but with a slightly different layout.

Up front it’s the same, so you do get cab seats that swivel round to face a half-dinette. The table has a swing-out extension to allow four people to dine.

It’s the same great kitchen, too; that means if you don’t want to get the bbq out, you’ll be able to rustle up a family dinner using the three-burner hob, oven and grill.

A worktop extension will help with meal prep, too, and the 87-litre fridge is set at waist height for easy access. The shower room may be compact, but it’s a practical and stylish space.

Modern black fittings complement the countertop washbasin with a ‘click-clack’ plug.

And, the hot water comes from a plumbing system installed underneath the campervan.

This frees up an incredible amount of storage space within the body of the campervan.

And that brings us to the rear, where the capacity to carry kit is enhanced even further, because there’s a fold-aside fixed bed here, set at a height to allow two mountain bikes to be stored on board (with the front wheels removed).

The pop-top above provides a second double bed; it’s up to you to choose which bedroom you want to sleep in and which is best for the kids.
