Laika reveals two new Kosmo campervans
Laika has launched two new Fiat Ducato-based campervans under the Kosmo name.
The two new models – the Kosmo 50 and Kosmo 60 – are 5.41m and 5.99m long respectively and follow the styling cues of Laika’s Kosmo motorhomes, which were created in collaboration with GFG Style, an Italian design studio that put its stamp on the distinctive character of the new-generation motorhomes launched in summer 2024.
The new campervans, which have matt black exterior graphics and accessories, chrome logos, and the Italian flag emblem on the side mirrors, all of which are features on their larger motorhome siblings. The new campervans are available in an array of colours, including White (standard), Artense Metallised Grey, Metallised Black, Expedition Grey and Lanzarote Grey (optional).
The body of the Kosmo campervans sees the roof and floor lined with high-density XPS extruded polystyrene foam, while the doors and walls have a washable plastic interior lining. The ceiling is finished with padded technical fabric for superior comfort and a pleasant temperature at all times.
Both models have a large panoramic skylight in the lounge and windows running along the vehicle. Two symmetrical front windows illuminate the lounge and kitchen area. One window is dedicated to the toilet and two serve the rear area. In this way, all areas are flooded with natural light and efficient air exchange is ensured at all times. For expanding views even further, the Skyview (opt) can be integrated in the cab ceiling.
At the rear is a transverse bed on a wooden slatted frame and Ergonomy mattress. Offered as standard as two-berth campervans, the new models can accommodate up to five with the addition of an optional pop-top roof and a third bed made up from the dinette.
The two main differences between the two models are the kitchen area and the washroom. Both kitchens are equipped with a two-burner gas hob, stainless-steel sink and soft-close drawers but the Kosmo 60 has a longer kitchen with extra features such as a folding worktop extension. There are also two open shelves with ridged edging to prevent things from falling off and integrated LED lighting. A further special feature is the sink, which in the Kosmo 60 kitchen comes with a single-lever tap and a multifunctional cover that doubles as a chopping board.
In the washrooms the Kosmo 50 has a compact design with a window and shower that can also be used from the outside, while the Kosmo 60 has a Vario washroom with a large separable shower.
Both models offer windows and portholes for optimal ventilation and lighting, as well as storage compartments.
