Auto-Trail announces new entry-level compact campervan

There are several changes across the board as well as new models in two of the ranges. The first headline is that Auto-Trail is holding its prices from 2025, meaning the only new prices to note are that of new models.

Let’s take a close look at what’s new…

Across the board...

We’ve got a new carpet colour that's removable to make cleaning easy, new soft-close upper locker doors and two new styles of table with integrated cup holders, depending on the instalment of a pop-top roof or not.

From a technical standpoint, all campervans in 2026 will come with a three-stage charging unit with the option of a 100Ah lithium battery. The charging unit is controlled on a new four-inch touchscreen control panel on the Expedition, and a seven-inch screen on the V-Line and Adventure ranges. There’s also a 70Ah AGM battery as standard on all campervans and a 200W solar panel on all but the shortest campervans; the 5.40m models get a 120W version.

Those medium-wheelbase models also see the the water heater relocated underneath the campervan. This creates more storage in the under-seat lockers. Tank sizes are also exactly the same across all models now.

As previously discussed, 2026 models will include a new design of table, with integrated cup holders to avoid spillages and subsequent damage when on the move.

There are two types. The pop-top editions need to accommodate the ladder while still having cup holders to use, so there is a folding table with an extension to give access for cups.

The campervans with a front lounge and no pop-top have the cup holders built into a traditional table with swing-out extension.

Big changes to the Expedition range

Auto-Trail’s Expedition range sees the biggest changes for 2026. Expedition models all now have the option of a reversing camera with a nine-inch screen, Thule bike rack, and a TV aerial with 12V coaxial socket, all of which are a cost option.

The Expedition 66 model with a rear lounge now has the option of a U-shaped lounge by simply adding two supporting bars between the classic bench seats and placing a matching cushion on top.

The new Expedition 54

There is a new 54 model in the Expedition, sporting a rear lounge; this is a 5.4m campervan on a medium-wheelbase Fiat Ducato. The layout has been adopted from Auto-Trail's V-Line but with a more entry-level price of £52,595.

Inside, the bench seats at the rear convert to a double bed in the standard manner. Sandwiched between lounge and cab, you’ll still find a washroom with shower and toilet. Opposite this is the kitchen with a Thetford oven/grill and combined sink and hob. The eye-level fridge is found between the cab and washroom, above a wardrobe.

Changes on Expedition 68, with two new models

Stepping inside the Expedition 68, you’ll find the sink has been moved to allow for a longer nearside rear bed. The changes also provide space to store a ladder for the pop-top edition, and for a hanging rail for clothes which you’ll find next to the fridge.

Auto-Trail has also introduced new 68 XL and 68 XL Flex models priced at £57,563 and £59,363 respectively.

The XL provides the option of sleeping either lengthways or across the campervan, depending on your preference. The extended nearside bed size means this option can now accommodate an individual up to 6ft 3in in height.

The new XL Flex features an electric drop-down double bed in the rear. This therefore means the height of the storage space below is flexible and can be adjusted to the user's personal needs from the space.

Subtle changes to the V-Line

Each model in the V-Line range has received some changes in various capacities; most notably the previously mentioned new San Marco wood colouring inside as seen in the entire 2026 range.  All Sport models (610, 635, 636) now come with an enlarged rear boot for increased storage.

All V-Line Sport models have a new Panoview skylight as standard, allowing more light to enter the cab. Finally, within the V-Line 635 SE, the microwave has a new location behind the driver’s seat to provide extra overhead storage in the kitchen – this also creates some extra worktop space below the new microwave location.

For reference, the V-Line Sport models are considered more entry-level while SE models come with more kit as standard.

Minor changes to the Adventure

For the flagship Adventure range, there is also a new Thetford oven and grill and black reading lights with USB charging points. There is also the same new upholstery scheme as fitted in other models.
