New Motorhomes, Big Savings: Peter & Matt Hunt Down the Best Show Deals

New Motorhomes for Less? Peter & Matt Explore the Big Discounts at Newbury
If you've been browsing for new motorhomes or campervans for sale lately, chances are you’ve noticed prices creeping up year after year. But here's the good news: despite the rising cost of living and economic pressure, there are still genuine deals to be found — especially at major events like The Southern Motorhome & Campervan Show.

We joined Motorhome Matt and Peter Vaughan at the show to uncover the truth behind current prices, explore what’s new for 2025, and see just how much buyers can save. What we found may surprise you...

UNDER £60K? NEW VANS!

Are New Motorhomes Still Affordable?

Let’s start with the elephant in the showroom: price. A motorhome that cost £60,000 a few years ago is now often listed closer to £90,000. Understandably, this has priced some potential buyers out of the market. But as Peter and Matt discovered on-site, deals are very much alive — and in some cases, dramatically so.

  • At the show, we spotted:
  • £14,000 off a Ford Transit-based Evo 77 Plus
  • A stylish, automatic model reduced from £88,000 to £73,000
  • A family-friendly layout for under £60,000
  • A compact WildAx van discounted by £4,800
  • Nearly £10,000 off a Swift Carrera van conversion
  • £15,000 off selected Globe-Traveller campervans
  • A luxury A-Class motorhome reduced from £81,000 to £78,500

These weren’t just hypothetical discounts — these were real, show-exclusive offers available from reputable dealers across the UK.

Why Are These Discounts Happening?

The show brought together dealers eager to clear 2024 models before newer 2025 and 2026 stock arrives. Many discounts are part-funded by manufacturers themselves, meaning that dealers aren’t absorbing the full loss — and buyers benefit from genuine reductions.

As Matt explained, these aren’t one-size-fits-all sales either. In many cases, the discount only applies to a single unit. Once it’s sold, it’s gone.

What's Driving Motorhome Prices Up?

Despite current deals, the trajectory for new motorhome and campervan pricing is still upward. Why?

Chassis costs are rising due to stricter emissions regulations

Materials and manufacturing expenses continue to climb

2026 models are already in production and expected to be even more expensive

So, while discounted motorhomes are available today, they may not be tomorrow. Shows like ours provide a limited-time opportunity to beat future price increases.

Where is the value?

New vs Used: Is It Still Worth Buying New?

One striking discovery from the show was how close new motorhome prices are to late-model used vehicles.

For example:
A five-year-old Swift was priced the same as a brand new Roller Team.

With discounts taken into account, a brand-new motorhome or campervan might actually offer better value, warranty, and technology than a used one. The gap between new and used has never been narrower — but that’s unlikely to last.

When's the Best Time to Buy?

Now. Many of the deals at the Southern Show were for one-off vehicles or limited stock, and the message from dealers was consistent:

“This is the last one. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.”

As 2026 models come in, prices will rise again, and manufacturer-funded discounts will dry up.

What Were the Standouts?

1. Adria Twin Supreme
Sleek, modern and full of thoughtful design features. A favourite for families who value comfort and practicality.

2. Globe-Traveller Vans
Underappreciated in the UK, but hugely popular in Europe for a reason. High spec, clever layouts, and up to £15,000 off.

3. Swift Carrera Van Conversion
Perfect for couples or solo adventurers. Smart, curved interiors and discounted to around £60K — excellent value for a brand-new conversion.

4. A-Class Family Motorhome from Itineo
Five belts, bunk beds, drop-down double bed and huge garage — all for under £80K. A rare combination of practicality and luxury.

What Can You Expect at a Warners Show?

Aside from great prices, shows like the Southern Motorhome & Campervan Show offer:

  • A huge range of brands under one roof (or field!)
  • The chance to test layouts side-by-side
  • Access to exclusive show-only discounts
  • Expert talks, product demos and dealer insights
  • A welcoming festival atmosphere, complete with live music, food and friendly faces

As Peter put it:
“It always seems strange that we stand in a field and spend £90K, but where else can you see so much in one place?”
