Full Review

WHILE the Kemerton is a genuinely new model, the Bourton is more of an old tune re-mixed and re-released. Except that unlike any X-Factor re-make this one is slightly better than the original.

Its origins will be clear to regular readers, who will recognise this as a close relative of the Auto-Sleeper Surrey which we ran on long-term test last summer. The Bourton lacks the rear travel seats and overcab bed of the Surrey, though, making it virtually an identical twin of the low-line Northants model.

But whereas the Northants is only sold through the Marquis dealer network, the new Bourton is available throughout Auto-Sleepers’ network of franchised outlets.

It’s part of a new three-model line-up that also includes the Stanton (basically a truncated 5.94m version of the same layout, on a short-wheelbase Mercedes) and the Malvern (a fixed bed 7.29m two-berth which mirrors the Marquis Gloucester’s floorplan).

Auto-Sleepers haven’t simply changed the names, however.
