Small motorhomes don’t have to be light on storage, as this Sunlight proves.

And, because there’s less heavy bodywork to lug about, there’s more payload. Even with the Chassis and Basic Packs fitted as standard to all UK Sunlights, there’s still over 700kg left to play with.

You won’t have too many worries about overloading that rear garage then. So, here’s a garage layout low-profile that measures just a tad less than six metres overall.

The T 60 sits quite high on a ladder-frame chassis (so there’s a double external step for access) and, at 2.33m, it’s the same breadth as the larger models from Neustadt.

Inside, that equates to a surprisingly spacious feel, especially when the overcab sunroof is fitted.

Placing the bed across the vehicle means that tall motorhomers are well catered for – Sunlight claims dimensions of 2.10m by 1.40m/1.30m. So that’s a bed of more than 6ft 10in in length, for those who still think in imperial measures. There’s a short, clip-on ladder to ease access to the bed and a window at the foot, as well as a small roof vent, to provide ventilation.

If you expect the door below the bed to cater for internal access to the garage, however, you may be disappointed – this actually opens onto a shallow, part-shelved wardrobe.

The front lounge is typically continental in style, with a half-dinette and swivel cab seats, partially trimmed in check pattern with a fresh, modern style. Behind the driver’s seat, where you might expect to find a small inward-facing seat, is a second, taller wardrobe.

The central galley is compact and offers limited worktop space once the hob and sink lids have been raised, but there’s a low-level oven to suit British tastes.

Opposite, the all-in-one washroom comes with a swivel cassette toilet and a swing-wall to create a shower cubicle, with the washbasin (and the mirrored panel above) rotating to cover the loo. UK spec for Sunlights is pretty comprehensive, with the Chassis Pack including cab air-conditioning, ESP and Hill Holder, passenger airbag, electric mirrors, cruise control, radio pre-wiring and an aerial integrated into the mirror, as well as a height-adjustable passenger seat.

The Basic Pack adds extra rooflights, shower cubicle lining, a wooden duckboard, captain’s chairs with twin armrests, LED lighting, and additional mains sockets in the galley and garage.

The model photographed here also came with an exclusive-to-Lowdhams All-in-One Pack of Teleco satellite dish, 19in flatscreen TV, bike rack and awning. Priced at £995, but worth up to £3k, this pack is available on selected 2017 Sunlights from the Nottingham dealer.

Also seen here are the optional extra Chassis Comfort Pack (£1,150), comprising alloy wheels, leather steering wheel, LED daytime running lights and more, and the Active Pack, giving you the silver metallic exterior side walls for an additional £850.
