This year, all the exciting activity appears to be at the top and bottom of the market size-wise, with the middle ground seemingly in the doldrums. Up top there’s plenty of mega motorhome action with eight-metre-plus ‘vans sporting island beds and tag axles on offer.
The bottom end is very interesting too - small, slim low profiles tagged ‘Van’ and now ‘compact A-class’ from the likes of Dethleffs and Hymer represent the kind of motorcaravan that’s right up my street.
More importantly, they’ll actually go up many a street where some bigger, motorhome ‘fat club’ rivals may fear to tread. Knaus has now joined the slim and compact market with the Van Ti, applying German build quality and clever design to this most interesting of motorhome genres.
