The Giottiline name will be a new one to most buyers as it has only had the briefest of appearances here before. Now, however, there’s a new importer and distributor – Wincham Leisure.

The Therry T34 featured here is a low-profile based on a Peugeot Boxer with the 130bhp engine (160bhp is a £1,299 option). The price of the standard model is just shy of £64,000 and for that you get a well-equipped four-berth 6.99m island bed motorhome.

The cab is well specified; although, being a Peugeot, there is no automatic gearbox available. However, for those who desire two-pedal motoring, you can switch to a Fiat Ducato chassis and its Comfort-Matic semi-automatic gearbox for an additional £5,499.

But back to the cab, where both Lux and Plus Packs are included as standard. These add goodies such as cruise control, electric/heated mirrors, swivel seats with armrests and cab air-con, while Giottiline also adds a dual-lens reversing camera and a tracking system, as well as an opening overcab sunroof (with storage recesses at each side). Alloy wheels and LED daytime running lights are extra (£999 and £299, respectively).

At the rear is an island bed that measures a respectable 1.88m long and 1.50m wide, sitting above a large twin-access exterior locker. There are his ’n’ her wardrobes and bedside storage at the bed head, and twin cabinets above, which are at a high enough level to allow those in bed to comfortably sit up.

Access around the bed is good, as is lighting (with twin reading lights above the bedhead). There is a TV attached to the toilet compartment wall, at a perfect height for watching from the bed and a solid door, which swings across the aisle, can be used to create an en suite washroom and bedroom.

The toilet area holds few surprises, but comes with the superior Dometic cassette loo and a white plastic inset basin above a cabinet. Extra mirrored storage is above and there’s an opening window. Opposite is a separate shower with bi-fold Perspex doors and twin drain holes, plus a roof vent and recesses for shampoo, etc, but a wheelarch intrudes significantly into the floorspace and the doors stop well short of the ceiling.

The central kitchen comes with a three-rings-in-line gas hob with extractor fan, plus two 230V sockets above and a rectangular sink alongside. Worktop space is limited. Below, the storage includes three soft-close drawers, while opposite is a Thetford two-door fridge/freezer with a grill/warming oven above and a second TV for viewing from the swivel cab seats.

The front lounge has a half-dinette and the aforementioned rotating cab chairs, plus a side-facing single seat, all facing the fixed pedestal-leg table. The floor in front of the half-dinette is at the same level as the cab’s but it steps down by the inward-facing seat. Above is an electric drop-down bed (1.96m by 0.86m), while an extra bed can be made from the lounge seats.

Heating is courtesy of Truma’s Combi 4kW blown-air system with the option to upgrade to the 6kW version.

A rear bike rack and Fiamma awning are standard.

A relatively new name to UK buyers, Giottiline’s profile is set to rise with a new importer and distributor on board. The Therry T34 has four berths and a rear island bed layout, and is a worthy option in the mid-range motorhome market.
