Full Review
This is definitely not a budget motorhome, but it has quality in abundance. It's certainly got the Dethleffs style and swagger.
Only in Dethleffs' eyes could this be considered an entry model - although some purchasers may not go quite so far as all the options exhibited here that push the price dangerously close to a whopping £55,000. It's hard to see anyone keeping it below £50k despite the tempting £48,500 starting price. The cab as standard comes with the airbags and cruise control you still too often end up paying extra for. This T1 also definitely proves to be a very good drive, taking the UK motorway maximum in it's stride, with a slick gearchange providing a reminder of why the Ducato is a great base vehicle for any motorhome.
The Globebus is also up to 200mm narrower than many others of its length, perfect for country lanes.
Genuine effort has been made to give this Globebus a truly unique look, from the customised front grille all the way through to the slim look of the rear lighting.
Inside, it doesn't disappoint either. The main feature is a transverse fixed bed at the back that's deliberately set low for the easiest accessibility.
The rest of the floorplan holds few surprises as far as layout is concerned - a half-dinette in the forward lounge, offside washroom and nearside kitchen.
It's a clever washroom here too. What looks like a fixed washbasin on the side wall is actually on a hinged bulkhead that swings out of the way when you want to shower.
The rear seat base covers though are unfinished plywood and you would certainly have to look at how to get a larger table in.
Also, anyone expecting grand things from a kitchen that calls itself 'GourmetCenter' is going to be disappointed. There's a three-ring hob but no spark ignition, and the sink is so small and shallow you may struggle to find a washing-up bowl to fit in.
The verdict? We'd easily overcome the inconveniences because the package is so good.

Our Verdict
As you might expect at the price, superior qualities show throughout, but not without a couple of concerns. The easy-access bed is a major plus though.
