Read MMM’s motorhome review of the Compass Avantgarde 180 on LWB Peugeot Boxer 100 HDi from December 2007
When County Durham-based manufacturer, The Explorer Group, decided to base two ranges of motorhomes on an historic Autohomes-like design, it struck gold. Value for money is the key here and seemingly reduced design and production costs mean Compass Avantgarde and Elddis Autoquest models can often see off even budget competition from Italy.
Strong sales have been the result, as Brit-friendly traditional interiors and super value have proved to be a recipe for success. In addition, I’ve a sneaking suspicion that tuggers turning to motorhoming find these motorhomes attractive, as the styling is right and prices are closer to the cost of a new touring caravan.
