Bürstner's Lyseo TD Harmony Line range has been updated for the 2020 season after three successful years. Originally, it was introduced as a mid-priced low-profile range with a technical double floor – something Bürstner saw as a gap in the market.

The facelifted version gets new hybrid tail-lights, improved interior lighting (such as under the drop-down beds), a completely redesigned kitchen with new illuminated accessories board and a new oven, and Vario blinds in the bedrooms.

Other innovative details include new beakers with magnetic bases and the Homelight, which can be used as a rechargeable torch or a lamp inside the motorhome or outside.

The revised range encompasses 10 models, from 5.99m in length up to 7.49m. As well as island bed and single bed floorplans, there are models without a fixed bed, including this 744. Here is a German luxury motorhome featuring an Anglicised layout. It’s a four-berth model with four belted travel seats and comes on a 4,250kg chassis as standard, so there’s no shortage of payload.

The first seating area is the typical continental half-dinette up front. There’s a wall-mounted table here with an extension leaf so that it can be reached from the swivel driver’s seat. Scatter cushions and Roman blinds add a touch of style, while directionally adjustable reading lights are sited over the table.

There’s no window behind the offside single seat but deep glazing is fitted to the extra-wide habitation door. You’ll also see stylised lighting in the base of the drop-down bed here, while glasses store in a cabinet by the entrance.

The front drop-down bed (an option) measures 1.98m by 1.30m (max – it’s widest in the middle) and has a rooflight above. It obstructs the door when lowered.

Think of the front of the motorhome as the dining area and the rear as the lounge – and the 744’s star feature. This is not a UK-style U-shaped seating area, though, but an L-settee with a low sideboard adjacent. There’s a TV station here and armrests and scatter cushions enhance comfort.

Above, the electric drop-down bed measures 1.96m by 1.51m. Meanwhile, outside there’s a useful external locker running under the rear settee – it’s a good space for your outdoor camping furniture.

In the centre of the motorhome, on the nearside, is an L-shaped galley, the most notable feature of which is the rotating worktop cover over the sink – it’s such a neat way of providing more preparation space that we can’t help wondering why it’s not been done before!

The rest of the kitchen spec includes a three-burners-in-line hob, four drawers (one including a bin), a rail and hooks for tea towels or cooking implements, and a 151-litre tall/slim fridge with automatic energy selection. Over the fridge is the oven, while the wardrobe is alongside.

The Harmony Line specification lives up to the near-£70k price tag, with a silver cab and flush-fit habitation windows, plus 16in alloy wheels and a 4.5m awning. A 100W solar panel is also standard, as is a multimedia system with sat-nav and reversing camera. Further fittings include upholstery with embroidered logos, central locking on the XL habitation door and cab blinds.
