The Bürstner Lyseo TD 680 G Harmony Line

This high-spec two-berth low-profile from German manufacturer, Bürstner, which is part of the huge Erwin Hymer Group, features one of Europe’s more desirable yet unusual layouts.

And, as it is a Harmony Line special edition model, it is packed with extras that come as standard, such as a 100W solar panel, awning and awning light, exclusive graphics and interior fabric schemes, Premium XL habitation door, carpets, etc.

The Lyseo TD 680 G, as do all models in the Lyseo TD range, also comes with an insulated sandwich double floor – known as a Thermofloor – the likes of which are often only found in much larger and more expensive A-class and liner motorhomes. Not only does this floor improve insulation, sound-deadening and winterisation qualities, it also adds storage and means there is a flat, step-free floor throughout the living area.

The garage

But back to that layout, which has proved to be winner with many buyers. At the rear of this Fiat Ducato-based coachbuilt is a full-width, twin-access garage, with lighting, strengthened flooring and fixing hooks and with one full-sized door on the nearside and a smaller door on the offside.

The kitchen

Inside there is a high-spec central kitchen that features a three-burner Thetford hob, grill and oven, as well as multiple soft-close drawers and cupboards at high and low level, plus a worktop with an inset sink and single mixer chrome tap. The sink’s cover swings also out to increase worktop space. Opposite the galley, beside the wide habitation door, is a full-sized fridge/freezer with more storage above.

The lounge

Forward of this is a comfortable front lounge with the de rigueur twin side-facing sofas and a folding multi-directional table for dining or working at in between. This is a great relaxing area, as the cab seats can also be swivelled to face the lounge, making it a great entertaining space. Above the lounge is a large drop-down double bed, which provides the two berths at the touch of a button (well, actually the turn of a key). There is an option to have two more berths created from the lounge below, for those who want more sleeping options (there are also four fully belted travel seats so everyone can travel in the one vehicle).

The star of the layout

Across the rear of this 6.9m-long motorhome is the star of this layout: a large washroom running the full width of the motorhome with a twin-drain separate shower, which is fed by twin water pumps to ensure high water pressure even when the 100-litre fresh water tank is running low.

The swivel loo and washbasin with acres of high and low-level storage are found at the other end of the washroom. Across the back wall, as well as above and below the sink is loads more internal storage and access to the garage can be made via a large sliding door, meaning no more going outside if you need something from the garage.

Special edition extras

As one would expect from a special edition range, the Harmony Line adds some neat design and specification features, such as clever magnetic glass holders, indirect lighting throughout, USB charge points and Bürstner’s very clever Home Lights, which can be moved wherever you want them and fixed in place with the aid of magnetic brackets.

Options to the already high-spec Ducato base vehicle (it already features heated cab seats, alloy wheels, air-con, twin airbags, cruise control, etc) include an upgrade from the standard ix-speed manual 140bhp Fiat turbo-diesel to the 160bhp engine with either the manual or the new nine-speed automatic gearbox.

Coming in a shade over £81,000, the TD 680 G Harmony Line sits on a heavier 3,850kg chassis (with £1,800 upgrades to 4,250kg and 4,400kg available) so check you have the correct driving licence category before getting behind the wheel.
