Full Review
The Xplore 586 is a six-berth model. In common with the other three models in the Xplore range, it is light, at only 1,370 kg.
This model has bunks in the nearside rear corner. The shower room, which contains a separate shower, is parallel to the bunks, on the offside. Between the bunks and the shower room is the wardrobe.
Sleeping
The 586 is an ideal layout for young families, with two fixed bunks and two more bunks to create from the offside dining area. A tall cabinet, which houses the table and gives space for more items, creates good separation between the dining area and the lounge.
Lounging
TV points are close to the top of this cabinet, enabling you to watch TV from either the lounge or the dining-bunk area, by simply turning your TV around. The lounge makes into a double bed which is 1.3 m wide and 1.98 m long. Alternatively, the settees are long enough to be used as single beds.
New styling features for 2020 include taupe grey laminate surfaces in shower rooms and ‘anthracite’ colour metal-effect surfaces in the living area.
The Xplore range traditionally has bright, sunny colours for graphics and cushions and, for 2020, the shades are yellows combined with pale turquoise, in a triangular pattern, creating a lively, fresh look, combined with pale upholstery and light wood.
Kitchen
Cooking equipment is a three-burner hob and a combined oven-grill. Xplore models have Whale space and water heating systems.
Optional extras include a microwave oven (£200), an Al-Ko Secure wheel lock (£259), Al-Ko’s ATC stability enhancement system (£475) and an alarm system with PIR and corner steady sensor (£340).
Verdict
The Xplore 586 is one of the lightest six-berth caravans you can buy. This model’s bunks are secluded in the near nearside corner. The shower room is more spacious than you might expect in a caravan with a body length of 5.7 m.
The offside central dining area can be transformed into bunks, or, if the caravan is being used as a four-berth, this is a permanent dining area, so offering flexibility.
