Of the three new family 586 models launched by the Erwin Hymer Group for 2019, this is the lightest and lowest-priced.
Three new models join the Erwin Hymer Group's line-up of 41 models for 2019. These 586 models are six berths, with bunks and an offside dining area.
Washroom
The shower rooms run longitudinally, with a wardrobe to separate the little room from the bunks. The interesting thing here is that this shower room layout is a copy of those in the hugely successful eight-feet-wide models, the 840 and 866, in the Elddis Avanté and Compass Casita ranges from the same manufacturer.
The new 586 layout appears in the Elddis Avanté and Compass Casita ranges. Both are 1460kg MTPLM. This Xplore version is the lightest of the three 586 models, at only 1370kg MTPLM – and it costs £3000 less.
Ideal for families
The 586 is an ideal layout for young families, with two bunks and two more to create from the offside dining area. A tall cabinet, which houses the table and gives space for more items, creates good separation between the dining area and the lounge.
TV points are close to the top of this cabinet, enabling you to watch TV from either the lounge or the dining-bunk area, by just turning your TV around.
Cooking and equipment
Cooking equipment is a Thetford Duplex combined oven and grill with a three-burner hob.
Options include the ATC stability control system at £460, an AL-KO Secure wheel lock at £250 and a microwave oven at £195.
The Xplore SE pack adds £469 to the price and gives buyers a hitch-head stabiliser, alloy wheels, steel spare wheel and carrier, an AL-KO Secure wheel lock receptor, speakers and MP3 connectivity.
Verdict
The Xplore 586 is an excellent option for families looking for a lightweight six-berth caravan. Its bunks are in a secluded area at the rear, the shower room is large enough for all family needs, and equipment is spot-on for a lightweight caravan, with a combined oven and grill and a three-burner hob. We love it!
