Swift Challenger Evolution 580

Highbridge Caravan Centre, in Somerset, takes the Swift Challenger range up several spec notches with the company’s special edition, called Challenger Evolution.

The Swift Challenger Evolution range is distinguished from standard Challengers by unique upholstery and a raft of additional equipment including Alde heating.

There are four models in the range.

The 480 is a compact and classic two-berth with an end shower room, and there are three fixed-bed models, the 570, with a double bed on the nearside, the transverse island-bed 580, and the twin-bed 565 model.

Extra equipment

The 27 extra equipment features that turn a Challenger into an Evolution spans both luxury and practical items which combine together to create a package that gives this range a distinctive character as well as extra value.

Practical items include an alarm system with key fob operation. There’s an exterior access door to the front nearside locker, an exterior mains socket, a barbecue point, heavy-duty corner steadies, a side lift jack, mud flaps, an automatic gas changeover system, and an AL-KO Secure wheel lock.

Inside, practicality encompasses an extractor fan over the kitchen, and a hanging rail in the shower area. There’s a USB charging point, too. And a 100-watt solar panel mounted on the roof, giving this caravan especial appeal to buyers planning to caravan away from mains electricity.

Evolution luxury touches include curtains of double the width used in standard Challengers. The seating fabric is Swift’s own luxury stain-resistant, easy-to-clean material. Armrests are in two sections for extra comfort. Windows have concertina blinds.

Extra lighting features include dimmable spotlights; the shower room mirror has lighting set into the glass. And there’s lighting set into the edges of the kitchen splashback, creating a stunning décor feature.

That’s £1955 more than the standard Challenger on which it’s based, at £19,840, also including delivery.
The extra equipment amounts to an impressive £3500 in value. One to consider if you like Challengers and want more spec and a lot of individuality.
