DEALER specials are always guaranteed to give you extra specification and they’re always going to give you exclusive styling.

If you’re looking for a traditional two-berth-end washroom layout, plus a large helping of style on top of extra specification, all combined with typically Swift high build quality - then this special edition might just be the one for you.

The Belvoir range is manufactured by the Swift Group, based on the Sterling Europa range.

Grantham Caravans of Lincolnshire picked five of the nine-model Europa line-up; the 460, plus the family-layout 495, 520, 530 and 565, gave them additional specification and named them after the Vale of Belvoir, a beautiful region that takes in some of Leicestershire as well as Lincolnshire and runs quite close to Grantham.

Our test example, the two-berth 460, gets extra kit including upgraded and exclusive upholstery fabric, an Omnivent extractor fan, Tyron safety bands (designed to keep you safe and on track should you have a punctured tyre) and a lock for the AKS hitch-head stabiliser.

You also get two security items that are almost certain to save you money. The infra-red alarm system with tilt sensor and AL-KO Secure Wheel Lock.

The package also gives you two items designed to enhance exterior lifestyle. That’s an external point to enable you to power a gas barbecue from the caravan’s cylinders, and an external mains socket – perfect for a table lamp in your awning, for example.

The 460’s layout gives you traditional two-berth appeal with spacious end-washroom luxury. The shower is large and has an extension to the shower tray that forms a drying area.

The wardrobe is in the washroom – so it becomes a true dressing room. The area has plenty of space, plenty of shelving above and to the left of the washbasin, and a general ambience of luxury living.

That ambience is well matched in the living area; most of its special looks derive from Sterling’s unique Scandinavian-influenced pale woodwork with dark edging, launched last year to mark the 90th year since the manufacture of the first Eccles caravan.

The Belvoir-exclusive upholstery precisely follows the pale woodwork shade. It adds paler creams and darker fawns in elliptical shapes and squares, completing the perfectly-coordinated look.

Curtains are half voile, half plain cream fabric, with shaped top sections that match the dark brown of the locker edging and furniture tops.

The Belvoir stamp of style is accentuated by the word Belvoir, etched into the long mirror to the right of the door. The name is embroidered into the dark brown stripes on each of the two scatter cushions, too.

Verdict:

Whether the Belvoir’s swish, carefully co-ordinated cream-and-brown interior looks match your desires is a matter of personal taste. For us, this exclusive Belvoir coffee-and-cream look works perfectly – but it’s the extra kit, especially the alarm system and AL-KO Secure Wheel Lock, that would seal the deal.
