The Barcelona’s 175-litre fridge and triple-cupboard kitchen makes it a great choice for keen cooks and people who seek excellent food storage space.
It’s also an excellent choice for couples and families seeking fantastic storage space. Its unique lounge furniture construction which enables the storage areas to be accessed by raising the whole front and top of the seating units makes putting items in and out really easy – and we find that you can cram more stuff in here than in caravans with conventional locker construction.
The Barcelona’s shower room runs the full width of the caravan. The shower is on the nearside. The washbasin is Belfast-sink-style – deep and large. On test we find you can actually wash small amounts of clothing in here! Between the washbasin and shower is a surface that hinges up to reveal a linen bag, suspended on hooks – the idea is that you put items in here that are ready to be washed. In practice, we find it’s far more useful as a store for rolled-up, clean towels.
Storage opportunities are different from the norm in Bailey’s wood-free Alu-Tech construction caravans. Gas compartments don’t run the full width of the front – yet their apertures are plenty big enough to make exit and entrance of cylinders easy.
Two more exterior lockers are on each side of the caravan; they reach deep into the caravan side and are ideally proportioned for the loo-chemical-type necessities.
The Barcelona’s equipment includes the AL-KO ATC stability system, alarm, AL-KO Secure wheel locks, Alde central heating, a 23-litre inboard water tank – and an Avtex television.
Best of all, this caravan tows like a dream; its twin-axle stability allied to its light weight for its length creates a caravan that just feels right on the road.
