SITTING at the upper end of this group in terms of price, the Avondale has parallels with the A4 in that it’s a ‘van that offers luxury and exclusivity, for which you have to pay a premium. You could pull any of Avondale’s Dart offerings with the Audi - but they’re relatively sparsely equipped in comparison as they’re cheaper.

Choose the Argente and you’ll have a ‘van that’s as conservative on the outside as it is inside. It’s on build quality and equipment that the Avondale really scores - for a relatively light, cheap and compact ‘van, this has about as much kit included as you can realistically expect. Sadly the shower doesn’t have its caravan interior - Avondale Argente 390-2own cubicle, but the washroom is well finished and decently equipped - much like the galley.

Speaking of which, the L-shaped kitchen is surprisingly commodious in terms of both preparation and storage. Crucially though, while this is a pricey ‘van, there’s not a lot of interior space. In fact this has the shortest internal length of this group, and the lack of inches takes its toll to a degree. However, as a premium compact two-berther, the Avondale is hard to beat. Just make sure you don’t think about that price tag too much.
