How would you like your fixed bed Fiat-based van conversion? Long-wheelbase, extra-long or medium? Single beds or a double? Compact washroom or one that extends into the aisle? An extra berth in the lounge, double bunks aft, or an extra double bed in a pop-top above?
All these permutations, and more, are available in Globecar’s eight-model D-LIne range, although don’t be surprised if the spec you want pushes the price beyond £50k.
Here, we’re focusing on the Campscout, a 6.36m-long model on the extra-long Ducato van with a spacious end bedroom featuring separate single beds.
It may be a classic continental theme but, as usual, Globecar has some rather neat ideas.
The angled kitchen, for example, increases the impression of space in the front of the vehicle, while the clever expanding washroom (extending into the aisle with a rotating tambour door) gives you a lot more room for showering as well as creating a room divider to close off the bedroom.
There’s a generous 138-litre slimline fridge, too, that’s mounted at a convenient level, while optional soft-closing for the large sliding side door reduces the effort usually required to slam it shut – as well as cutting down the noise that can disturb your fellow campers.
However you spec your Globecar, you’ll be impressed by the build quality which gives these campervans a durable feel.
