The Kemerton end washroom campervan layout only exists today in XL form, making it one of four layouts offered by Auto-Sleepers on the 6.36m Peugeot Boxer van

Like the rest of the Peugeot van conversion range, it gets a range of new fabrics for 2018 – choose from a striped material or a leaf pattern, either of them in five colours (blue, green, berry, mocha or mustard).

Also new is the option of Limewash Oak furniture as an alternative to Verada Oak, which continues and is shown here. The Limewash cabinets come with a contrasting quarter panel of slate grey under a chrome strip and are mated to dark grey carpets and slate-coloured worktops.

The Kemerton continues with a high spec, including a 25-litre underfloor gas tank, a choice of metallic paint finishes and an external barbecue point.

There’s  dark tinted athermic glass side windows and the 2-litre 160bhp Euro VI power unit.

A Fiat base vehicle can be specified by those needing an automatic (Comfort-Matic) gearbox.

The optional (£2,500) Premium Pack adds essential goodies such as alloy wheels, cab air-conditioning, cruise control, a Thule awning, reversing camera and sat-nav, plus a solar panel. Most buyers are also likely to add the Media and Winter Packs, too.

While the Fairford majors on offering extra berths and extra travel seats, the Kingham boasts a fixed bed and the Warwick XL has the ultimate in lounging, via a spacious rear seating area, the Kemerton’s appeal revolves mostly around its rear bathroom.

Stretching across the full width of the ’van, with a separate shower in the offside corner, this facility can also be accessed directly from outside, via the rear barn doors, which could be handy if you’ve got muddy on a long hike.

At the opposite end of the vehicle, the lounge comes with a side sofa, a single forward-facing seat adjacent to the sliding door and – at a rather higher level – swivel cab chairs. The settee has coordinating armrests and scatter cushions, while the single seat makes occasional three-person travelling possible.

At night, the forward lounge can be converted into twin beds or a transverse double of quite generous proportions.

The main kitchen unit resides on the offside and features a half-height cooker with combined oven/grill and three gas burners. As well as plenty of storage and a decent amount of worktop, there’s also a high-level fitted microwave. The three-way fridge and wardrobe are opposite.

Other features of the Kemerton XL are an electric step, panoramic rooflight, LED spotlights, a cocktail cabinet with crystal wine glasses (!), a 105Ah leisure battery and a Drive Safe regulator so that the Truma Combi heating can be used en route.
