Full Review
Would you like to blend in, in your beautiful woodland environs? Drive peacefully through a village lane in the Cotswolds? No? Buy the Adria Twin GT then.
Adria’s original Twin was the template for many of the imported models with semi fixed rear beds. Well, this is its garish older sibling. In the brightest of oranges, with interior trim to match, the only other colour choice is black and outrageous red, with black 20in alloys adding to the angry, pumped up look, thanks to the SSA (Stability System of Adria) suspension aid.
The sub £48k starting price is attractive, but there's a reason. Everything on this 'van comes at a price. Our review model was improved by an upgrade from the standard 148bhp engine to the 3-litre. Then, there’s the SE Lux Pack – which includes Truma 4E heating and hot water, plus air-con, cruise control and passenger airbag. But, it’s the whopping £7,490 GT Full Pack that sees this Twin in all its glory.
Essentially there are so many options, they're nigh-on impossible to list.
It's not just about the quantity of additions here though, but the quality. Nothing is scrimped on and additions include Bose, Blaupunkt et al.
The upholstry is of similar standard, of course, leather with a carbon-fibre effect trim.
The kitchen and washroom are of a standard layout, a round sink next to a two-ring burner hob, everything in tones of black and grey, an odd contrast to the rather lairy orange.
Actually, it’s all rather too easy to criticise. Underneath all the make-up, it’s still just another Fiat Ducato-based high-top. Features like the roller blinds rather than the concertina variety are a bit out of keeping with the general styling here.
It might grab all the attention, but it’s deliberately only available from three of Adria’s UK retailers – Family Travel Centre, Geoff Cox and Premier Motorhomes. It does however have its own website: www.adriagt.co.uk
