Trowbridge Lodge

TROWBRIDGE Lodge is an exclusive park home development situated in the heart of Wiltshire. The park has been established within part of the grounds of what was a large, private country estate and the entrance to the park is via one of the original lodge gates which is now a private residence.

The park is set amongst woodland where the majority of the trees are protected under preservation orders, thereby providing an idyllic setting. The park underwent a re-development programme in the 1980s, bringing the park up to a very high standard, and the majority of homes are situated on generous sized plots.

Despite the countryside setting, residents have all the conveniences of having a town virtually on their doorstep. There is a supermarket quite close to the park and a small parade of shops around the corner, while the centre of Trowbridge is approximately half-a-mile away.

Trowbridge is a thriving town three miles from Bradford-on-Avon and within commuting distance of Bath, Bristol, Devizes and Swindon. The county town of Wiltshire, it is considered the natural centre of West Wiltshire’s five small industrial towns and is now the third largest town in the county after Salisbury and Chippenham.

The town’s lengthy history is recorded in the museum. The woollen industry played a crucial part in the town’s development, and the museum is located in the last woollen mill in Trowbridge, which closed its doors as a mill in 1982. Trowbridge also holds a Farmers’ Market in the town centre on the fourth Friday of each month.

Bradford-on-Avon is the last outpost of the Cotswolds in the western corner of Wiltshire, close to the borders of Somerset. The magical appeal of the town’s position on the banks of the River Avon gives visitors a wonderful setting for leisure, cultural and tourist activities. You will discover delightful shops and restaurants lining the narrow streets of the town centre.

The Cotswolds are centred on the gentle slopes of the Cotswolds Hills and are officially designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the largest in England and Wales. The region is famous for its ancient mellow honey-coloured limestone villages that blend perfectly into the countryside and its bustling market towns. Many have scarcely altered since they grew up on the prosperity of the medieval wool trade. This sequence of events now makes the Cotswolds region one of the most treasured, toured and vacationed in the UK.

If you fancy travelling a little further afield, then the splendid south coast is approximately a 45-mile drive from the park.
