Swift - Toronto Lodge Country Cottage

The country-themed version of the Toronto Lodge has styling that evokes thoughts of country-mansion grandeur.

Luxury and traditional cottage cosiness

The luxury in this unit is created by a sumptuous leather, deeply buttoned sofa and two armchairs, plus an ottoman unit – and a general vibe of traditional cottage cosiness.

A cottage-style ‘log burner’ stove is set into a multi-shelf media wall topped with a sculpted cornice.

Natural wood abounds in the living area, for the central panel of the media wall, the dining table, and the ‘mountain larch’ kitchen work surfaces. The curtains enhance the country house theme, with a pattern that involves thistles and flowers.

The dining area and kitchen

The Country Cottage’s dining area has a multiplicity of cushions, in tartan-inspired fabric, plus dark green, and leaf-design cream shades. The table sits on a rather magnificent, traditional-style base, composed of two wide sculpted pedestal legs.

Alongside the dining area is a feature shiplap (whitewashed timber-look) wall with a classic-design, gold-framed mirror. Three brass shaded lights hang on a bracket above the breakfast bar; very country house in style.

The Shaker style of the kitchen units, in Dakar Grey, with brass handles that team with the pendant light, creates the country cottage/mansion look here. And, as in the Urban, there is a rise-and-fall, three-socket unit, plus a built-in phone charger, in the kitchen.

The bedrooms

The Country Cottage that we review is the two-bedroom version – and has two wow-factor elements in its bedroom area layout. The first is in the twin room: a dressing table that converts to a desk simply by lowering the hinged mirrored unit. So this room can be an office (ideal in the work-from-anywhere culture that we now enjoy) – or simply a spacious bedroom, with the advantage of a large wardrobe, six wide drawers and two cabinets. However you use this versatile room, it’s luxurious and very cleverly designed.

The other wow-factor element is the main bedroom, which is enormous, with a huge dressing table, lots of floor space, and an entire wall of wardrobes.

The washrooms

The en suite is linear in layout, with Shaker style for the washbasin cabinet and marble-effect in the shower area. The bathroom also uses marble-effect and Shaker style to create a luxurious look. As with everywhere in the Country Cottage, it evokes a feeling of grandeur.
