Swift - Edmonton Lodge

Swift’s new family lodge, the Edmonton, is available in three layouts, one with four bedrooms – and a choice of décor.

Two new looks

Swift’s high-specification Edmonton Lodge has not just one new look, but two. And it’s now available with four bedrooms. There are three layouts: a 40ft by 20ft with two bedrooms, a 40ft by 20ft with three bedrooms, and a 43ft by 20ft with four bedrooms.

Once you have found the layout that suits your needs, you can then select the décor that suits your taste.

Go for the Scandinavian-themed Edmonton Lodge and you will enjoy pale hues and décor that’s charmingly minimalist – though nonetheless very inviting, and with comfort at its heart. The coastal-themed Edmonton gives you cool greys, pale blues and white; a definite seaside vibe, emphasised by some of the (many!) cushions having bold stripes, reminiscent of traditional deckchair design.

The Scandinavian-themed Edmonton

This lodge has ‘shiplap’ feature wallcovering (white with a pale grey wood grain pattern) by the dining area, and simple Scandinavian-style dining chairs. The sofas and ottoman footstool/seat are in cool beige, and the coffee table is composed of two circles; typical of Scandi design.

The kitchen in all models is an L-shaped configuration with an island breakfast bar. Appliances include a four-burner hob, a microwave and an extractor fan with inset lights.

In the four-bedroom version, two sofas face the media wall where vertical panelling backs the television position and the log-effect ‘fire’ beneath it. There’s a feeling of wide-open space about this lodge, yet the living area is clearly divided into three sectors. The dining area sits alongside the kitchen, with six typically Scandi design, round-backed chairs and a slim sideboard. Two circular stools tuck under the breakfast bar island unit on the lounge side. Cream lower units and grey upper units are simple and superbly modern in style.

By the lodge’s entrance, a sliding door hides an area for coats and shoes, complete with a seat, and, opposite, a washing machine.

The bedroom area

The first impression is a feeling of space. The two twin rooms are identical, with wardrobes and dressing tables. The main bedroom’s floor-to-ceiling window ensures it’s light and airy. Shiplap wallcovering on the bedhead wall, and two steel light fittings that emit bright lights from both the base and top, look lovely. Two large wardrobes and six shelves give excellent storage capability. Through the wardrobe area, you find the shower en suite and, like every area of the Edmonton, it’s super spacious and very refined.

The second double bedroom is alongside the main double. Back along the corridor, the family bathroom, with over-bath shower, is opposite the first of the twin rooms. Again, space is the keynote.

The three-bedroom layout

The 40ft by 20ft three-bedroom layout has an identical lounge/kitchen/dining area. This time the first door on the right of the bedroom area corridor takes you into a shower en suite, and then into the main bedroom. This bedroom has an enormous wardrobe suite, with two wardrobes, a dressing table and four drawers, plus shelf areas.

Like the four-bedroom version, this a superbly designed family lodge, perfect for multi-generation occupancy. This unit also has a coat-and-shoe area by the door; the washing machine is accommodated here.

The coastal Edmonton

In the 40ft by 20ft two-bedroom, coastal-themed Edmonton, a cottage-style stove, curtains that have a pattern clearly inspired by waves lapping on a sandy shore, and fourteen gorgeous cushions in a variety of textures and pastel hues guarantee comfort. The dining table is of a farmhouse-inspired design. The kitchen units have panelled doors and wood effect surfaces.

The main bedroom has a corridor wardrobe area leading to the en suite shower. The twin room is opposite the bathroom. All of the rooms are spacious.
