Brimming with high-tech features and a style that blends rustic and industrial design, the new County Retreat is an ultra-sophisticated lodge.
This lodge has remote-control for lighting and heating, keyless entry and motion-sensor lighting. It has a split-level, semi open-plan living area; two steps lead up from the kitchen to the spacious lounge and dining area. Lights set into the steps switch on automatically as you approach. The flooring is LVT.
Kitchen appliances include an eye-level oven and microwave, plus a wine cooler cabinet set into the breakfast bar. Gloss slate-grey units with copper handles, solid bamboo worktops and pure white tiling create a sleek and super-modern look.
The kitchen area leads out onto a secluded outside space with a living wall and space enough for two or more to enjoy a morning coffee.
Stark styling increases the spacious look of the lounge, softened by velvet upholstery. The rustic element of the lodge’s décor brings in wooden tile-effect flooring. Bold colours are gorgeous – dark turquoise for the curtains and blinds; brilliant orange for one of the chairs and some of the cushions.
The four-seater dining suite is of a plain, stark, on-trend industrial style.
The lounge styling continues into the bedrooms. The twin room has a feature pendant with an open, metal shade – again bringing in the industrial theme.
The main bedroom, like the day area, has a split-level floor, leading down to the bed and up to the en suite and large walk-in wardrobe. This area has a walk-in wardrobe and separate dressing area.
Industrial-style lights are here, too. And two French doors lead from the bedroom outside.
The en-suite has a waterfall shower, pure white floor tiles and dark teal wall tiling.
In the bathroom, the décor is grey and white; there’s a brown-tiled wall, with a recessed shelf, beside the freestanding bath.
