In the north of Cumbria, conveniently close to the city of Carlisle and a short walking distance from one of the country’s best farm shops (arrayed with a vast selection of enticing culinary temptations!) sits Orton Grange. It’s a park home estate with a an elegant parkland atmosphere; many of the homes are arranged around a central green area with a magnificent tiered fountain. Before the Orton Gold was sold, we visited Orton Grange and had a good look around. This home is typical of Red Rose Homes’ high quality and attention to details, so on these pages we take you on a quick guided tour…

Orton Grange is just over 20 minutes from Carlisle. The spectacular northern Lake District is 20 miles south of here; the coastline of the Solway Firth is considerably less distance away. And of you fancy exploring Scotland, historic Gretna Green, where there is an outlet shopping centre, is eight miles away. It’s a great centre for a lot of days-out exploring from your new home.

Closer, character Dalton village, two miles from the park, has pubs and other places serving food.

And the farm shop I mentioned earlier? Great for lunches, for browsing and buying delicious food – plus, this establishment has a swimming pool, all on the doorstep of Orton Grange.

Red Rose is a manufacturer which is currently spreading its wings in terms of awareness, taking homes to more shows, among them, exhibiting for the first time at the Lawns in the North East last year and the major show in the Midlands, Stoneleigh, this summer.
