Five minutes’ walk from the beach, Hazelgrove Park, at Saltburn-by-the-Sea on the Yorkshire coast, is being transformed into a lovely retirement location by Tingdene Parks, as the company describes here...

From humble beginnings, Hazelgrove Residential Park has undergone an impressive transformation into a top quality residential retirement haven.

The transformation of this former caravan site has been progressing with professionalism and skill ever since 2007. Prior to Tingdene’s intervention, the site had seen several owners over the years.

On the east side of the charming Victorian seaside town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Hazelgrove was, in the opinion of Tingdene, in need of some TLC.

Tingdene Parks

Work on making Hazelgrove a desirable residential park swiftly began. New infrastructure, including a new road network and new electrical and plumbing systems, were established. Concrete bases were laid and, pretty soon, new park homes were sited. With one side of the park complete, a second phase of development began. The second phase is now well under way and sales are going extremely well. As the park is just a five-minute walk from Saltburn and its beach, it is ideal for many retirees.

It is an undulating park on different levels of land. Some of the homes also back onto woodland, making it a great spot for birdwatchers. The park is well planned with plots that are ample in size. Tingdene Parks says this is typical of the type of site you would expect from an operator with the highest of standards.

Hazelgrove is designed for people of 45 and over. There are nice little enclaves from the main road system dotted around the park, creating quiet cul-de-sacs.

Parking is well catered for with bays for visitors, as well as good off-road parking for residents and garage options on each plot. Neatly laid out, the gardens are a mixture of lawns, shrubs and formal designs.

Between the two phases of the park, a footpath disappears into a woodland with a stream – a delightful spot, leading down onto the beach and promenade of Saltburn.

Saltburn-by-the-Sea is rated as one of Yorkshire’s gems, noted for its Victorian architecture, gardens, a thriving arts and food scene and a recently-renovated miniature railway.

The town has a spectacular Victorian pier and also a cliff lift, which is among the world’s oldest water-powered funiculars. All this is within a five-minute walk of Hazelgrove Park. The town has all the shops and supermarkets you need, along with plenty of places to eat out.

If you’re looking for a great community park that’s close to the coastline, Hazelgrove is a place to consider; you may not need to look any further! With a brand-new development of 28 plots under way, there’s never been a better time to check this park out.

Homes for sale

There will be two Tingdene homes for sale – a 36ft x 20ft Mackworth Lodge and a 40ft x 20ft Barnwell – coming to the park soon.
