Park Review: Coastdale Parks

08239f33-2cef-4135-a400-5b895bf628e2

Four holiday parks, all close to beaches or popular tourist attractions and all offering a good choice of holiday homes to buy

Coastdale Parks (coastdaleparks.co.uk) are all in beautiful locations in Suffolk, Cornwall, North Yorkshire and North Wales. These parks cater for all tastes from beach walks to historic locations; all are within easy distance of a raft of places of interest that you’ll enjoy visiting again and again during your stays at your holiday home. Some of Coastdale’s parks have very unusual features; one has its own cinema, and a ‘Hub’ room where iPads and XBoxes are available.

All of these parks offer a number of purchase options to suit all budgets, tastes and model preferences, ranging from new, top-of-the-range holiday homes with central heating, to ‘starter’ caravans, both new and pre-owned.

Coastdale Parks offers you the option of trying out a holiday home for a weekend break to see whether it meets your expectations. If you subsequently buy a holiday home at the park, the cost of that weekend break will be offset against the cost of your holiday home.

Pakefield Caravan Park

Pakefield Caravan Park

With a stunning location close to what is known as the Sunrise Coast of Suffolk, Pakefield has direct access to a sand-and-shingle beach and has sea views.

A short drive from the park, through countryside, passing the windmills and waterway that characterise this area, brings you to the Norfolk Broads. This series of connected lakes and rivers forms arguably Britain’s most famous wetland area, home to a vast array of wildlife, pubs and villages. You’ll never be short of things to do while staying at your own holiday home at Pakefield.

The seaside town of Southwold is a short drive away, a historic place famous for its colourful beach huts and its brewery.

The seaside resorts of Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth are not far from Pakefield, and more beaches are at the historic Dunwich and Aldeburgh, a charming character town steeped in music and arts history.

Inland, Lavenham and Clare are spectacular Medieval wool towns; well worth visiting and then re-visiting. Long Melford, with a main street stretching two and a half miles, with lots of fine shops and eateries, will grab your attention, too.

Pakefield has free WI-FI, an outdoor heated swimming pool, a club offering seasonal family entertainment, a launderette, a playground and a shop. The Pakefield season runs from 1 March to early November.

Atlantic Coast Holiday Park

Atlantic Coast

Atlantic Coast is an extraordinarily stunning park, backed by spectacular high dunes which offer shelter as well as endless walking opportunities – notably to the magnificent beach beyond the dunes. It’s worth noting that dogs are allowed on this beach all year.

Located in one of Cornwall’s best beach areas, a short walk away are the golden sands of Godrevy and Gwithian beaches. From here, in the distance, you can see the iconic artists’ port of St Ives.

Park facilities include a shop serving freshly baked bread, croissants and Cornish Pasties plus groceries, beach goods, frozen foods and even locally produced beers. Other amenities include a laundry and free Wi-Fi.

The Atlantic Coast season runs from 1 March to 4 January.

Garreg Goch Caravan Park

Garreg Goch

Close to the North Wales coast and a 10-minute stroll along a footpath to Black Rock Sands, Garreg Goch is an idyllic location, perfect for exploring the scenery of Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula. The park is close to Porthmadog, which has an array of shops and restaurants. The scenery in this area is spectacular, with mountains, farmlands, forests and winding rivers.

Unusually, Garreg Coch offers the facility for you to arrange for your holiday home to be moved from another park to a plot here; Pakefield offers a similar scheme, too.

Garreg Goch is open from 1 March until 10 January.

Whitby Holiday Park

Whitby

Perched on a cliff-top, with magnificent views of the North Yorkshire coast, Whitby Holiday Park is set amidst peaceful footpaths, golden beaches and beautiful countryside.

Saltwick Bay and the Cleveland Way Coastal Path are both accessible direct from the park, making Whitby Holiday Park an ideal choice for walkers.

Whitby is a short walk from the park. Picturesque Robin Hood’s Bay, Runswick Bay and Staithes are all just a short drive away, with beautiful beaches and a geology rich in fossils. The village of Goathland, made famous by the Heartbeat television series, is also a short drive away.

Amenities include free Wi-Fi, a shop, café, a club providing family entertainment, a playground, amusements and a laundry.

This park has its own Galleon Cinema which shows recently-released films, plus a new Info Hub Room equipped with Ipads and an Xbox for all the family to enjoy.

Whitby Holiday Park is open from 1 March to October or November, weather permitting.
