Park Review: Allen Leedons Park

b82ef5f5-2346-487a-a3aa-21fdf2b3a054

Imagine strolling from your home into one of England's most beautiful villages. One that is so magnificent that it attracts international tourists. Full of pretty cottages and character shops. And places to eat. Art galleries and antique shops, too.

Afternoon tea, perhaps – Cotswold cream tea, of course! And then a stroll back to your very own place in the Cotswolds. Need any more convincing?

Leedons Residential Park, part of the Allens group, is on the edge of magnificent Broadway, just a mile from the centre of the village.

It's a superb place in which to live. Not just because of the proximity to one of the prettiest villages in the UK. But because this residential park has a very new leisure complex with an indoor swimming pool. And a tennis court. And a three-rink all-weather bowling green with a viewing area. The complex is a hub of activity that sets Leedons apart from all other residential parks.

You'll feel as if you are on a perpetual holiday here – helped by the fact that a sector of Leedons Park is devoted to owned holiday homes and, of course, the location, amid the Cotswold villages and gentle rolling landscape, which is considered a jewel in Britain's holiday destination crown.

Leedons is one of the few Residential Parks in the UK to hold the prestigious Gold Award for Conservation, awarded by David Bellamy. This truly is countryside living and with a diverse range of wildlife inhabiting the park, your bird table will be in use all year round.

Right now, a choice of plots is available. Each home has its own garden area, a shed or greenhouse and parking for up to two cars adjacent to the property. The park uses natural gas, metered water and each home has its own individual electricity meter.

Homes can be supplied by all the main manufacturers and Leedons has examples on show at all times. Homes can be up to 50 feet long and 22 feet wide, depending on your choice of plot.

About the area

When you want to explore further than gorgeous Broadway, a carpet of pretty villages is spread out before you. Burford, Moreton-in-Marsh, idyllic Bourton-on-the-Water (with the River Windrush running through the centre of the village!), Lower Slaughter, Upper Slaughter, Stow-in-the-Wold, Chipping Campden, Chipping Norton, Chipping Sodbury ('Chipping' is derived from, an old English word meaning market), Painswick, Bibury and tiny places including enchanting Snowshill. The Cotswolds covers a huge area – almost 800 square miles – and runs through five counties (Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire). Honey coloured stone architecture, arboretas, colourful markets… it's all here and more.

Less than 20 miles from Broadway is Stratford-upon-Avon. If you don't know this dramatically alluring place, living at Broadway you'll be able to visit and revisit. The fascination surrounding the Shakespeare connection is everywhere. If you're a theatre fan you might like to now that a varied programme goes on at not one but three theatres in Stratford. There are five magnificent Shakespeare family properties to visit, riverside walks, river trips, restaurants galore… Stratford-upon-Avon is surely reason in itself to consider making your park home move to Broadway.
