Park Home Review: Willerby Delamere

837e5d16-1ee8-47d6-85f1-3a7ff47d76e9

Spacious, modern yet with touches of opulence, Willerby’s first-ever park home has a practical layout, lots of storage space and stunning styling

Willerby is launching into the residential park home market with the biggest unit ever made by the company. The 50ft x 22ft Delamere uses wall-build techniques employed for the first time.

Entrance hall

An entrance hall with a touch of opulent, yet modern, style welcomes you to the Delamere. Directly opposite the door is a circular mirror set into a gold-coloured frame, in its own recess with a background of abstract artwork design which suggests white birch trees in autumn. It’s utterly stunning and sets the tone for the Delamere’s impressive styling throughout.

Dining area

Two tall windows are set into the wall between the hallway and the dining room, ensuring that both areas benefit from extra light. The dining room ceiling is architecturally impressive, semi-vaulted, with angles and slants, giving the room a futuristic aspect.

Lounge

Willerby Delamere - Lounge

Double doors lead from here into the lounge; they’re wooden framed glass doors, so that they create a semi-open plan aspect even when they’re closed, making the lounge a totally separate room.

The lounge runs the full width of the property. Like the dining area, large windows ensure lightness and brightness. A stunning element in this room is the part-panelled end wall, with concealed uplighting running across the top.

A wood-burner electric fire nestles in a pleasingly plain fireplace.

Two pendant lights with filament LEDs are awesome in styling. We had to turn to geometry to describe the shape of the open lightshade – it’s an icosahedron, and they’re stunning in their simplicity.

Kitchen

The kitchen is L-shaped and spacious. The units in the prototype which we are reviewing are gloss white and very minimalist in style – we love them but, if you disagree with our enthusiasm for them, you can choose from a huge range of alternatives.

A touch of modern rustic style comes in the form of a slate-effect splash-back, made of scores of horizontally-aligned tiles, and in the wood-effect worksurface.

The hob is amazing – a five-burner hob with a huge central burner. Built-in appliances include a dishwasher and fridge-freezer.

Two roof lights ensure this room is flooded with natural light. LED lighting is set under the cabinets and plinth lighting, in the form of extremely bright spotlights, creates a top-luxury look.

Utility room

The utility room, which has an exterior door, is equipped with a sink, an array of cupboards and a washing machine. Interestingly, buyers who are dog owners may like to know that the utility room could be sectioned off from the kitchen by an internal door. The central heating system is hidden within a large cupboard in this room.

Bathroom

The bathroom has a wide, shallow washbasin of beautiful plain design, set above two drawers.  A wall cabinet with two shelf sections is hidden behind mirrors of different sizes and an open shelved section between the two – very practical as well as stylish.

The bath is freestanding, oval and with a floorstanding shower with swan neck mixer tap plus slim shower rose; it’s ultra modern, angular design and very neat.

Main bedroom

A huge padded velvet headboard, a shaker-style dressing table with a stool so that it can double as a desk, and amazing filigree lightshades define the main bedroom.

The pendant and bedside lampshade design is a fine open filigree of bird and leaf shapes; a woodland pattern that adheres to the country theme of the Delamere along with the white birch design that had impressed us in the hallway as we walked in.

Leading off is the shower room, with a huge shower that has both drench and directional showers. Alongside is a walk-in dressing room with loads of hanging space, shelves and drawers.

Study

We love this study; it’s a neat little room, a hideaway with plenty of space for a cabinet, for example.

Second bedroom

The second bedroom has a stunning sloping ceiling and a window over the bed. The part-panelled wall style in the lounge appears here, too, above the bed, again with concealed uplighting. The wide box bay windowsill gives me somewhere to make more notes on the laptop; it’s easy to imagine sitting here with a mug of coffee in the mornings!

Shaker-style bedside cabinets and a sizeable wardrobe hide away plenty of stuff; the Delamere’s storage capability, overall, is impressive.
