Park Home Review: Prestige Sofia

Among Prestige’s other units that have colour changes and design updates for 2021 is the Sofia residential park home. This is a spectacular home with floor-to-ceiling windows taking up the whole of the front elevation and reaching up, cathedral-style, into the pitched roofline. That’s a new feature for 2021.

The lounge is separated from the dining area and kitchen by double doors. These are white, with the top half glazed, so that the rooms integrate, yet can be used separately. Pastel green is the colour theme for 2021, used for the wall that’s opposite the window in the lounge, the three-piece suite and the curtains, that have a fine white pattern in a pleasing, slightly traditional design. Green appears in the dining room in the form of the Roman-style blind to the long window.

The kitchen is huge, and with a breakfast bar style unit housing a five-burner hob. An eye-level microwave and waist-height oven-grill are integrated into cabinets that also house the fridge-freezer. A dishwasher and washing machine are in the sink sector of this vast kitchen and an array of wide drawers and cabinets is contained within the hob area. The matt fawn units teamed with oak surfaces and light oak flooring creates a delightful look.

The ambience of the Sofia is calming, created by the pastel hues. This is an impressive home. We especially like the glazed part-wall that divides the dining area from the entrance hall; you get a feeling of space at the same time as the dining area feeling like a separate area.

The main bedroom, unusually, is opposite the bathroom. It has a simple, desk-style dressing table with a stool in grey. The bedhead wall is papered in pale turquoise with a subtle gold flower pattern that catches the light; it’s charming and unusual. This room has an en suite shower room with a tall, chrome towel warmer and outstanding grey stone-effect tiles in the shower. There is also a large walk-in wardrobe with shelving as well as two hanging areas.

The second bedroom, at the rear of the home, has mirrored, sliding wardrobe doors and Shaker-style bedside cabinets. This room also has a feature wall, this time in plain green.

The main bathroom has stone-effect grey tiles like those in the shower room.

Our view

You get a sensation of space in the living area of this home, created by a large kitchen, the glazed part-wall by the dining table, the half-glazed double doors that lead into the lounge – and those magnificent floor-to-ceiling front windows!
