Orchard Park

SITUATED close to the villages of Beedon and Chieveley on the edge of the Lambourn Valley, in the extensive Berkshire Downs, Orchard Park is a high-quality development providing a beautiful and secure setting for your retirement.

Well established with mature landscaping, the park offers a peaceful environment, and yet is within easy reach of major towns such as Newbury, which lies just five miles away, and Oxford, which is 19 miles distant.

The semi-retired and retired residents have formed a close and social community, enjoying the security and peace of mind that park home living can offer. According to Mr and Mrs Turner of Almond Drive: “We have never known people so friendly; we feel very safe.”

As part of the park owner’s commitment to quality, every new home comes with superb finishes, including ornamental iron railings and attractive block pavier pathways, private car parking laid with matching pavier, a fully turfed garden, and a concrete-type storeroom with electricity supply.

A great deal of care and investment goes into Orchard Park. Every road has its own individual name, and at night the roads are lit with Victorian-style street lamps. The entrance to the park is impressive, and the flower tubs and hanging baskets around the park enhance this rural setting, painting a picture of a well-cared-for and high-quality park.

The village of Chieveley has two pubs, a post office and a grocery store that delivers to the local area. A milkman delivers to each home on the park, and a library van visits fortnightly. The local GP surgery runs a volunteer van that can collect and dispense prescriptions for non-drivers.

The bus stop into Newbury is situated just outside the park. The town centre offers good shopping facilities, as well as a popular theatre. The colourful market town also has many attractions, including the famous Newbury Racecourse, Donnington Valley Golf Club, and Victoria Park, which boasts wonderful greens for the keen bowler.

The Kennet and Avon Canal provides delightful walks, interesting museums, mills and leisurely boat trips.
