Marina View

MARINA View is an exclusive, brand new park home development for the semi-retired and retired. Situated in attractive countryside surroundings with the River Witham running nearby, it is ideally located for those who want the peace and quiet of the countryside, yet still like to be within an easy distance of local amenities.

The park has been developed to the highest standards, with brand new infrastructure and services. Tingdene has now released a further development of 25 plots which are currently available for reservation on a first-come first-served basis.

Marina View is situated in the small village of Dogdyke, which boasts its own marina with boat moorings, fishing, a restaurant and a friendly public house. A nearby visitor attraction is Dogdyke Pumping Station, which was built in 1856 to replace the existing wind-driven pump to drain a large area of farmland between the rivers Bain and Witham. The engine is possibly the oldest steam-driven scoop wheel pumping set in the country that is still in steam in its original position.

The nearby village of Coningsby has a host of amenities for day-to-day needs from a bank to a hardware store, and is within easy distance of the hamlet of Dogdyke. Coningsby lies eight miles south of Horncastle, with the Lincolnshire Wolds on one side and the Fens on the other.

Half-a-mile to the south of the village lies RAF Coningsby, one of the Royal Air Force’s most important stations. It is home to an impressive feature of Britain’s heritage, for it is here that the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, formed in 1957 to commemorate the RAF’s major battle honour, is based, with a Lancaster, five Spitfires, two Hurricanes and a Dakota. These aircraft are no museum pieces as they are still flying, and can be seen at a variety of air shows during the summer.

The nearby towns of Boston, Sleaford and Lincoln, and the East Coast with its miles of sandy beaches, are all within 45 minutes’ drive of the park. Regular bus services run from Coningsby, and a bus stop a few hundred yards from the park entrance gives easy access to the surrounding area.

Boston is situated near Lincolnshire’s southeast coast, where the River Witham becomes the Haven on its short journey to The Wash. It is an historic and attractive market town, dominated by the 14th century St Botolph’s Church, whose 271ft high tower is a landmark for miles around. A great deal of modern development has been taking place in the town, with its busy commercial and retail centre.
