The Acorn is Willerby’s first fully-bespoke lodge. This model can be tailor-made to your requirements and your taste; colours, style, finishes, doors, floors, windows and exterior hues can all be specified

The Acorn is an interesting concept in the luxury lodge market. You can create your own bespoke layout and details to suit your lifestyle and tastes.

It’s a high-end lodge, designed for leisure lifestyle luxury, and is equally ideal as a residential home. This is one of Willerby’s first fully bespoke lodges.

The exterior of our review Acorn is an eye-catching combination of grey cladding contrasting with a pale, rustic, orange-brown shade reminiscent of autumn leaves. You can change the exterior to reflect your lodge’s surroundings, whether it’s in a forest, or in a coastal area.

The rustic theme continues inside. A central beam which creates a design feature, running the length of the open-plan lounge and kitchen area.

The Acorn we review here has a 45 ft by 22 ft floor plan. You can, though, make changes to the plan to suit your requirements.

The layout of our review example is unusual, with a double bedroom on one side, complete with shower en suite, and a twin room at the rear.

The hallway has four coat hooks and an upholstered seat, on which to perch to lace and unlace walking boots – and four shelf areas below it, to put footwear out of the way. A full-height cupboard is alongside it.

Options are the keynote of the Acorn. For example, buyers can opt for a utility room, with many cabinets, a sink – and a rail for coats, with a shelf above it. This room has a back door, so it’s perfect for dog owners and all outdoor pursuits; walkers, cyclists and golfers in particular.

Lounge and Dining Area

Spacious and open-plan, the lounge has panoramic front windows and bi-fold doors to open onto your decking. It’s a true luxury lounge, with two sumptuous sofas laden with comfortable, squashy bolsters and cushions, facing each other across a central coffee table unit that continues the rustic design hint; it’s pine, with shaker-style handles.

Soft green is the standard accent colour, in feature walls plus on-trend cushions that incorporate pale blues, subtle yellow and a tiny hint of orange in the weave. The whole palette looks gorgeous. You can choose different colours, in line with the Acorn concept – but, for us, we’d go for the standard colours.

After all, Willerby’s interior design experts know a thing or two about how to create wonderful lodge ambience – so why change it? It’s nice to know you can, though!

Kitchen

The Acorn’s kitchen is stunning and spacious, with two roof lights to keep it light, and white units to emphasise the bright aspect. Feature tiles in shades of subtle turquoise form a splashback above the hob; that’s the only colour in the kitchen and it works well.

It’s easy to picture yourself creating culinary delights in this spacious kitchen with an abundance of surface area and an island unit. This kitchen is clearly designed to make entertaining easy.

Bedrooms

The master bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe with generous storage, coupled with a stylish en suite. Of course, you have the opportunity to reconfigure the space as you wish; another way in which you can make the Acorn your own.

Grey is the theme shade of the twin room, which has a sloping ceiling to create a delightful dimension. Again, you can change the colours to suit your taste if you wish.
