Exonia Park

SITUATED within the city boundary of Exeter, Exonia Park has been established to an exceptionally high standard for the retired and semi-retired, with a range of park homes provided in a friendly and secure environment. The A30 and M5 are easily accessible, and there is a bus stop near the entrance.

There are 116 homes on this well-established park, with some having fabulous views over the Devon countryside. Homes have the benefit of mains services including natural gas. Each home is surrounded by its own garden, which can include a shed and greenhouse if desired. Car parking spaces are conveniently located nearby, and some homes have garages on their plots. A resident manager maintains the park and is available on a day-to-day basis.

Exeter is one of Britain’s oldest cities, the cultural and commercial centre of the southwest, and the old county town of Devon. Visitors can enjoy the amenities of a modern city, while exploring its historic past. Many of Exeter’s historic buildings are close to the cathedral, and you cannot miss the Guildhall with its renaissance stone portico in the High Street, or Moll’s Coffee House with its fine timbered gables dating from Elizabethan times, said to be visited by Francis Drake and Walter Raleigh.

Unique to Exeter are the underground passages, created in medieval times to bring fresh drinking water from natural springs lying outside the walled city. It is possible to take a guided tour and explore these ancient passages. At Quay House Visitor Centre in the city’s historic Quayside, you can enjoy a short audio-visual presentation of Exeter’s history. The old quay area has been transformed and offers an interesting collection of shops, restaurants, cafés and old inns. There are watersports, indoor entertainment, riverside walks, a leisure centre and nightclubs.

Set in beautiful verdant countryside, Exeter is a great base from which to explore Devon, with its picturesque villages, historic churches and quaint old inns. A short drive from Exonia Park are Torbay and Plymouth. Stretching along 22 miles of stunning South Devon coastline, the beautiful English Riviera has been a popular holiday destination for centuries. Sandy beaches, rocky coves, picturesque harbours and a wonderfully mild climate combine to attract visitors seeking a unique experience.

The Torbay area first gained a reputation as a destination for relaxation and convalescence during the Napoleonic Wars. It was the Victorians, however, that coined the phrase the ‘English Riviera’. Sub-tropical plants and the celebrated Torbay Palm add to the Mediterranean feel, and these days the busy waterfronts are a hive of activity.
