Park home review: Tingdene Overstone

8e3e0d29-1dc2-4c84-a624-1b749b078c1f

The ethos of the Tingdene Overstone park home is luxury at an affordable price. With a modern, contemporary design using warm tones, this park home has a distinctive style.

The park home features lots of sophisticated design elements, which combine with touches of modern industrial design to create a stunning and highly individual home.

Think super-luxury apartment and you are getting somewhere near. And, by the time you notice the two amazing porthole windows and the reading area with its own strong identity, yet integrated with the lounge, you are close to understanding the character and atmosphere of the Overstone.

From the moment you step into the Overstone – named after a village in Northamptonshire, six miles from Tingdene’s base – you get the impression that it was built not just for stylish living but for entertaining.

The entrance (with built-in bench seat and cube shelving) leads you straight into the dining area, spacious and welcoming. Beyond, four chairs line up along a large breakfast bar that borders the kitchen. It’s clear that, whatever the occasion, be it morning coffee and muffins, early evening tapas, or an occasion dinner party, the Overstone’s eating configuration is more than up to the task.

The huge grey-framed glass panelled dividers that mark the junction between the dining area and the lounge are a stunning take on the design principle of semi-open plan; they create a real feeling of separation, yet the dining area flows beautifully into the lounge.

Here, the use of plain dark brown for the bookshelf wall of the reading area – and the porthole window – create a stunning area.

The use of a fawn shade for the lower sector of the lounge walls injects a warm tone, emphasised by the bold saffron colour of the reading area’s chairs and the cushions on the lounge furniture.

The chocolate oak laminate flooring, anthracite window framing, chrome pendant light over the coffee table and amazing gold multi-bulb light above the dining table all play their part in creating city chic styling in a delightfully bright, light living space.

We love the matt indigo finish of the kitchen units, the vaulted ceiling and the two grey pendant lights over the breakfast bar. And the kitchen practicalities? A 70/30 fridge/freezer, a washing machine, an electric oven and four-ring gas hob are all integrated.

The main bedroom has an entire wall of built-in wardrobes, a king-sized bed with integrated ottoman storage and an en suite shower room. Features here are a chrome heated towel rail and a rain-head shower with frameless sliding door.

The second bedroom has two single beds, bedside drawer units and built-in wardrobes.
