Editor's Pick: Residential Park Profile - Willow Park

b531a3b4-254b-49c4-8c32-c231e5a0fa56

Willow Park is one of the most spectacular residential parks in the country, thanks to its pretty lake in the centre of the park. There are ducks to watch and, if you look carefully, you can see carp rise to the surface, open-mouthed, in the hope of food.

This is a charming environment to call home. We’ve visited Willow Park several times and, each time, we’ve left with the impression that life here is pretty good. It’s not just the beautiful lake – and also the willow trees – that make Willow Park special; there’s a communal allotment area – residents just get on and grow stuff, there are no formalities or fees.

This is surely one of Britain’s showpiece parks. It’s located close to the village of Calverton, 10 miles from Nottingham and also conveniently close to Mansfield and Newark. Plots are spacious and homes get snapped up here quickly; it’s easy to understand why.

Now, there’s a new opportunity to buy a home here. A Stately-Albion Wentwood has just been sited on a plot overlooking the lake.

The Wentwood (pictured here) is a spacious, 48ft by 22ft home. Decking has been created so that the buyer can sit out and enjoy lake views; all of the decking and balustrades on this park are individually designed and made by the park’s own team. The garden is already landscaped, in common with Willow Park’s immaculate appearance. The driveway has space for two cars.

The large, L-shaped lounge-dining room faces south; French doors lead from here to the decking. The kitchen is separate, and the Wentwood has both a utility room and a study. The main bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe as well as a shower en suite. The second bedroom has fitted wardrobes.

Willow Park is part of the Killarney Homes group of parks. Residents are aged 45 and over.
