Introduction

Willerby caters well for first-time leisure homes buyers in particular, both in its holiday home and lodge ranges. We’ve picked four examples: three holiday homes, the Sierra, Brookwood and Gainsborough, and one amazing lodge, the Hayward, all designed with affordability in mind.

Willerby Sierra

This model, in particular, has affordability at its heart – yet there’s an air of sophistication about the Sierra. Its styling is outstanding, with bold use of colours and a kitchen that’s a real trendsetter; sage green cabinet and drawer doors with burnished brass-effect knobs and handles create a modern yet classy look.

Citrus hues enliven the lounge; an armchair is upholstered in citrus yellow fabric, providing a contrast to the smart, plain grey sofa fabric, and the curtains and cushions have splashes of pink, citrus yellow and green on a white background. The lounge seating is L-shaped, reaching all of the way along one side of the lounge opposite the log-effect fire, and forming a division between this area and the kitchen.

The kitchen is U-shaped, and has a built-in microwave as well as a four-burner hob (with an extractor fan above), and an oven and grill. A free-standing fridge/freezer comes as standard; you can opt for an integrated version. You can also opt for a washer/dryer.

Bedroom styling majors on soft hues, of subtle pale pink and apricot, to create a warm and luxurious look.

The Sierra is available in three size options: there’s a 35ft two-bedroom version, a 38ft two-room layout and a 38ft three-bedroom option. All are 12ft wide. The two-bedroom Sierra has a king-size bed; the three-bedroom version has a standard double bed.

Willerby Brookwood

This holiday home has a star-performer layout that makes it especially good for families. It has two L-shaped seating areas; one for lounging, the other for dining – plus a two-seater breakfast bar. The main kitchen area is also L-shaped, and with an additional area on the opposite side of the home housing the fridge/freezer and microwave.

This holiday home is truly amazing, with a layout that creates spaciousness in all three elements of the living area. The amount of floor space in the lounge is vast, partly because the seating is confined to one side.

The kitchen has an amazing seven lower cabinets plus seven more upper cupboards. Two deep drawers plus a fitted cutlery drawer complete an impressive amount of storage capability. The dining area is superbly designed, with L-shaped, pale turquoise upholstered seating, plus two wooden-topped stools with black metal-framed bases; six can comfortably sit here, making the Brookwood an ideal choice for families who like to entertain.

Natural wood is a strong element of the décor, teamed with pale blue, white and grey.

There’s a choice of six sizes, ranging from 28ft by 12ft to 40ft by 12ft. Two of the options have three bedrooms.

Willerby Gainsborough

A new addition to the Willerby range, the Gainsborough is the first to be unveiled since the launch of Willerby’s GreEN Standard – a new specification level introduced to cut carbon emissions of every model, make them more energy efficient and cheaper to run.

Kitchen storage capacity is amazing; Willerby tells us that this model offers 40% more space than in comparable 12ft models in the range. One major way in which this has been achieved is by the introduction of carousel-style shelving in a corner cabinet; the two shelves, in an approximate figure of eight shape, swivel forward towards the cabinet door, enabling you to reach items stored deep into the corner.

The Gainsborough is very much in the premium class of 12ft-wide holiday homes, with a general air of luxury and plush feel. Among features that create this are the pale grey velvet-upholstered dining chairs that ensure comfort goes hand in hand with style.

There’s another feature that marks out the Gainsborough as a design icon. It’s an ingeniously designed coffee table that transforms into a desk; it’s an optional extra, but one that we’re sure many buyers who want to work from their holiday home will go for.

The Gainsborough is available in three sizes, 35ft by 12ft, 38ft by 12ft and 40ft by 12ft; the 40ft model has three bedrooms.

Willerby Hayward

Affordability is at the heart of the Hayward – and so is family practicality, with a living space that’s clearly designed for sociability. The lounge, dining and kitchen space, while being open plan in concept, feels like three distinct ‘rooms’, each well-defined from one another.

The dining area, at the front of the lodge, has bench-style seating. On one side of the large table is a bench with a tall backrest, and on the other side, a bench with no backrest. Patio doors open from this area, creating a suggestion of al fresco eating, and the absence of a backrest gives an uninterrupted view to the outside.

The kitchen also has a separate room feel, with units arranged in an L-shape, and a second bank of units on the other side of the side entrance door; this section houses the oven and grill, with the microwave above it.

The Hayward is a charming lodge packed with character; it’s easy to envisage multi-generation holidays in this lovely environment. Three layouts, all 40ft by 20ft, enable you to choose the configuration that matches your needs; you can get your Hayward with two, three or four bedrooms.
