Riverside Park Homes sits beside the River Weaver in Cheshire. All of the homes are in elevated positions and have views of the river and its valley. This is a naturally spectacular location – and the park has been created with some very special design features.

The park, five miles from Northwich and in the parish of Whitegate and Marton, is owned and run by Darren and Samantha Leigh-Jones and it’s their imagination that has led to the park being something of a showpiece.

The park is on two levels and a magnificent stone bank (shown in the picture) defines the upper level. It is constructed of limestone blocks, each carefully placed by hand to generate the stunning effect of flat edges.

The structure is six metres wide at the base and rises up the natural bank to blend with the lie of the land.

Shrubs with foliage in a variety of colours, many set into bark beds, enhance the park. There’s an immaculate look everywhere.

Riverside is a prestigious park with a natural ethos and that has been recognised this year by a David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation; the park’s automatic irrigation system must have contributed to its accolade.

When I first visited the park last year the three aspects that impressed me instantly were the gigantic feature wall and the views from the homes – and also the tranquil appeal of living alongside a lovely river, which runs shallow and wide alongside the edge of the park. Walking, fishing and observing birds are obvious attractions of this enchanting location.

Currently the park has two homes available – both are at reduced, special-offer prices. There is a Pathfinder Evolution, 45ft by 22ft (offers over £270,000) with a snug area to the lounge plus a free-standing wood burner, and Willerby’s top-of-the range Delamere, 40ft by 20ft (offers over £240,000).
