Buying advice: park and holiday home buying with Quickmove

d1b5d65d-2d70-4fca-9fed-3591c55394ef

A couple bought a new park home close to the Dorset coast – and found it was a very easy move: buyers Brian and Sylvia Collins explain how it all happened...

The couple moved to their bespoke Omar home at Royale Heights, near Poole, earlier this year, using the Assisted Move scheme from Quickmove Properties.

They have settled in quickly to the retirement park lifestyle.

Brian says: “We looked at park home estates with homes too close to each other, but it’s not like that here at all – there’s a fair distance between each bungalow and we’re not overlooked. Royale Heights is a young park, but residents already seem very happy, getting on well but not in each other’s pockets.”

Sylvia described the perfect location of the development: “There are some lovely pubs and restaurants nearby. Five minutes’ drive away is Poole. There are parks, you can watch the boats in the harbour and alongside the quay and, of course, there are some of the best beaches in the country. Bournemouth and Blandford are 15 to 20 minutes’ drive away, and we’re surrounded by beautiful Dorset countryside.”

Brian explained how the move came about: “We had decided that we wouldn’t move until Brexit was sorted as we were worried about selling our bungalow. RoyaleLife, which owns the park, put us in touch with Quickmove, which offers an Assisted Move scheme that looks after selling your home. We nominated the price we wanted and, from that point, Quickmove got on with it.

“We had an offer within a month, which was the price we wanted, and it all went very smoothly from there. I couldn’t fault the service. They say that moving house is one of the most stressful things you’ll ever do but, compared to other moves, I couldn’t find anything that Quickmove could have done better. We’ve moved several times before and we’ve always had to do all the donkey work, but this was no trouble; just perfect!”
