Full Review
The Kosmo range is Laika’s entry-level, sitting below Ecovip and Kreos, but not entry-level as in budget-priced because Laika is one of the Erwin Hymer Group’s most premium brands. It includes the usual single bed and island bed layouts but, new for 2025, the L 105 is not just a smaller motorhome but a completely different one. It is only 5.99m long and at its core is a rear lounge with drop-down bed above.
Based on a Fiat Ducato, the exterior of the latest Kosmo adopts the latest Laika look, first seen on the Kreos and created in partnership with GFG Style, a company with huge heritage in automotive design. Its simple graphics, flush-fitting double-glazed windows, LED tail lights and aerodynamic overcab pod give the model a head start aesthetically. Structurally, the side walls are aluminium skinned, the roof and underfloor are GRP and the insulation is XPS (extruded polystyrene foam).
Spec and options
A white cab is standard, with black as an option, and likewise the 140hp motor and manual gearbox can be swapped for an automatic with 140 or 180hp. It’s a 3,500kg as standard, with a 3,650kg upgrade available. ESC, ASR, Hill Holder, Roll Over Mitigation, Crosswind Assist, Trailer Stability Control System, Post Collision Braking System, Traction+, Hill Descent Control and a leather steering wheel are all fitted as standard, along with 16in alloy wheels.
Laika also offers a number of options packs. The Chassis Max Pack (£3,190) includes the electric parking brake, inductive phone charging, automatic lights and wipers and digital instrumentation, while the Multimedia Pack (£2,350) adds the 9in central touchscreen with sat-nav, etc, and the Safety Pack (£1,460) gives you the driver assistance systems.
On the habitation side, you’ll want the Comfort Pack (£2,110) that incorporates a range of features from a wooden duckboard to a heated/insulated waste water tank, from a premium XL habitation door with central locking to an overcab Skyview sunroof and extractor hood in the kitchen.
Rear lounge layout
But it’s the layout that’s key to this model, not the spec. And its appeal centres around a rear lounge that’s belies the size of the motorhome. With tall backrests across the rear wall, this U-shaped seating area is exceptionally comfortable and it even manages to incorporate two rear belted travel seats, although travel right at the back of the motorhome is probably best for just short journeys.
Under the lounge is useful exterior storage, although it’s far from being a garage, while, inside, the fixed dining table folds in half to be less intrusive. You can turn the seats into a 2.01m by 1.86m double bed but more unusual – and interesting! – is the drop-down bed above in the form of two conjoined singles that lower electrically. This is both the model’s USP and its biggest disappointment – if only these beds came down lower (for easier access and greater headroom), Laika would have created something extra special.
Not that there isn’t plenty to like here. For example, both cab seats swivel, giving you somewhere to have breakfast if the rear is still set up as a bedroom, and a neat desk/table flips up from the washroom wall.
Kitchen and bathroom
Then there’s the washroom itself (on the offside, behind the cab), which makes excellent use of space with its swing wall that moves the basin and cupboard over the loo to create a proper curtain-free shower.
On the nearside, the kitchen comes with a 136-litre fridge, above which you can specify the optional oven (a bit too high for our liking). Adjacent, the main galley unit has a slight ‘L’ to its shape, with a bin included in the cupboard under the sink (where the unit is deeper) and drawers beneath the two-burner hob.

Our Verdict
This is a one-of-a-kind rear lounge motorhome that’s worth a close look, thanks to its Italian designer aesthetics, neat features and drop-down bed. If that bed lowered further, this would have been a potential award winner.
