VW T6 camper launched with fixed bed
A newly fledged company has developed a T6 campervan that offers a fixed double bed.
Campocito is a German company that was only formed a few months ago, with its prototype that was on display at Dusseldorf’s Caravan Salon only being finished a few weeks before the show.
The company has one model, the more well equipped Duo Exclusivo 5.3 on display, costing a hefty €78,000. There will be a more basic model available for €62,000.
The cab seats swivel to face the rear, with a kitchen across part of the sliding door aperture, a washroom opposite and the fixed bed across the rear. Attached to the front of the washroom wall is a folding table.
The bed looks tiny at first glance, but that’s because the whole washroom slides forward on recessed floor tracks, allowing a bed extension to be put in place and the foot of the mattress unfolded. This actually makes abed that is 1.5m wide by 2m long. There is also storage underneath the bed.
