The new, 2016 Hyndai i-Camper from Wellhouse is based on the face-lifted Hyundai i800 luxury people carrier and has the latest 2.5-litre, Euro 6, turbodiesel engine. It features a high standard specification and on the road prices starting from £42,000.

The original Wellhouse Hyundai i-Camper won awards thanks to key features such as its car-like driving position, being under two metres high (with roof down), having rear wheel-drive and offering the option of automatic transmission. It also has five travel seats and a five-year Hyundai warranty, plus one of the highest standard specifications in the Wellhouse range. This includes a SMEV mini-grill/oven, hot water, blown-air heating, 95W solar panel, 47-litre Vitrifrigo compressor fridge, 42-litre on-board fresh and waste water tanks, plus an outside shower and 16-inch alloy wheels.

The interior features the classic campervan layout of side kitchen including sink with two-burner gas hob and oven underneath, a fridge, plenty of storage, including a dedicated space for the standard portable toilet, plus a wardrobe unit and locker for the gas bottle. The rear bench seat has seat belts for three people and folds down to make a double bed. Unusually, the i-Camper has twin sliding side doors to maximise ventilation and also provide easier access for servicing the kitchen appliances or to remove the toilet.

The 10th anniversary model, available from £43,500, is differentiated by its body-coloured bumpers, side-mouldings and roof. The i-Camper range is topped by the black, red and white-coloured Nero, Rosso and Bianco special editions. These feature full colour-coded exterior fittings and internal furniture, plus larger alloy wheels and leather upholstery (two-tone in the Rosso and Bianco) with armrests for the front seats. These are available from £45,500.

Key features include:

  • Rear-wheel drive
  • Under 2m high
  • Five belted-seats
  • 2.5-litre Euro 6 134bhp engine
  • SMEV mini-oven and grill
  • 95W solar panel

All models can be ordered with the no-cost option of a hi-top roof instead of the standard elevating roof, while the specification can be boosted with the options of a roof-bed to make it a four-berth, leather upholstery (i-Camper and 10th Anniversary Edition) and a Thule Omnistor 2.5m roll-out awning.

David Elliott, Managing Director of Wellhouse Leisure commented, “We are proud to offer a wide range of campervans on a variety of popular and desirable base vehicles, so are delighted to be able to offer new Hyundai i-Campers again.

“Although we weren’t able to maintain a supply of new i-Campers over the last three years, we still had a lot of enquiries about new and used ones. Its high specification, value for money and car-like drivability have won it several prestigious awards in the past, and very satisfied owners, so we are sure the new one will be equally successful.”

The Hyundai i-Camper range can be viewed at Wellhouse Leisure’s showroom in Huddersfield and will also be available at a small selection of Hyundai dealers.
