Swift launches £146,000 flagship Kon-tiki motorhome

Following on from the launch of an all-new Kon-tiki motorhome for the 2019 season, Swift has announced a new version – its flagship Kon-tiki Dynamic – which is based on the Iveco Daily and costs from £146,000.

The new coachbuilt has a 7,200kg gross vehicle weight and comes with a 3.5-tonne towing capacity, making it suitable for those with a passion for motorsport or other such hobbies. Estimated figures also suggest the new Kon-tiki Dynamics will come with around 2,000kg payload. The Meier raised floor chassis is another key difference from the standard Kon-Tiki range.

The new model is powered by Iveco’s 180bhp turbo-diesel engine with a six-speed manual gearbox, however this can be upgraded to the 205bhp engine with the eight-speed Hi-Matic automatic gearbox. This new flagship model is also fitted with front and rear air suspension for better on road handling.

In terms of layout, there are two models – the 675 and the 675 Lounge – both with a transverse rear bed above a large garage, although two single beds can be specified. The garage has Thule universal locks and multiple lockers for storage of bulky equipment.

The 675 offers travel seats for six, while the 675 Lounge has travel seats for four.

There is also an overcab luton that houses a double bed, which pushes up out of the way during the day while the lounge can also be made into a further double bed, if required.

Cab equipment includes automatic air-con, heated windscreen, an inductive charging mat, leather-clad air-suspended seats and a Bluetooth radio with MP3 and sat-nav.

Additional technical gadgets extend to a 70-litre LPG tank, 3.5kW petrol generator, 120W solar panel, insulated 230-litre fresh water tank, 145-litre waste water tank and 190-litre fridge freezer

As with the standard Swift Kon-tiki, these two new models adopt the Swift Vision system (offering two colour side cameras, two rear-view cameras and rear parking sensors) and the Swift Command technology, which has a 7in touchscreen unit to monitor and control on-board systems.

Prices start from £146,490 for both the 675 and 675 Lounge. The larger engine and automatic gearbox will add £2,995, while an E&P hydraulic automatic levelling system costs £5,995.

Other options include 2kW inverter (£595), roof rack (£595), annual subscription for the pre-fitted tracking system (£95) and a choice of satellite TV systems (£1,945 to £3,191), as well as things like a towbar-mounted bike rack, roof mounted habitation air-con and a bike rack storage system for the garage (all POA).

*The Swift Kon-tiki Dynamic is on sale now and you will be able to view it on the Brownhills stand (3140) at the NEC show in Birmingham on February 19 to 24.
