New Honda campervan from Wellhouse

Wellhouse Leisure has launched a new campervan built on imported Honda Elysion MPVs

The Elysion is a high-specification people carrier sold in Japan, which is now available from Wellhouse with a campervan conversion, including elevating roof, kitchen and double bed.

It costs from £20,000 (depending on age and mileage).

The campervan conversion sees the Elysion get a side kitchen, a ‘rock-and-roll’ two-seater rear seat that converts in to a double bed, and an elevating roof, plus the option of a second double bed to make it a four-berth.

At 4.84m long and under 2.0m high, it will fit under most height barriers, is easy to park and convenient to use every day.

The campervan specification also includes a two-burner gas cooker and sink with glass cover, a 25-litre Vitrifrigo front-loading fridge, 2kw blown-air heating, 240v mains hook-up, 100w solar panel, leisure battery, swivelling front passenger seat, plus on-board fresh and waste water containers.

In this model, Wellhouse uses the Elysion’s existing floor rails so the rear seat can slide forwards or backwards, just like its award-winning Ford Terrier. This provides the flexibility of more loadspace or bringing rear passengers nearer the driver while travelling, then more living space when camping.

Wellhouse will offer the Elysion with a range of mileages and a choice Honda i-VTEC petrol engines: either a 2.4-litre with 158bhp or a 3.0-litre V6 with 248bhp. Both engines have a five-speed automatic transmission and are also available with 4WD.

“The vehicles we import from Japan have proved a great success because they offer lower starting prices for a new campervan conversion, and are in incredibly good condition thanks to the milder climate over there,” Director, David Elliott, said. “The Honda Elysion is lovely to drive and looks stunning, but we particularly like it because it has slightly more interior space than some of the other models we’ve imported, which makes its conversion to a campervan particularly successful. It’s also the first one we can fit with our sliding rear seat, so it can offer the flexibility of bringing passengers nearer the driver or more loadspace while travelling, then slides back for more living space when camping.”
