Motorhome manufacturer Rapido launches island bed Ultimate Line A-class
With the success of its models with a similar layout, French manufacturer, Rapido, has introduced a new A-class with an island bed and front lounge with facing sofas in its flagship 8F Series.
This new four-berth (rear island double bed and drop-down double bed above the cab) 7.2m-long A-class – called the 886F Ultimate Line – has four travel seats and a payload of 435kg. It is based on the 3.5-tonne Fiat Ducato with extra-wide rear track and sits within Rapido’s 2020 model range between the 880F and the 896F.
The 886F Ultimate Line has features such as a 1.5m-wide island bed with a retractable base to create a more space and framed by backlit side storage alcoves, with 12V sockets. The Ultimate Line pack adds features such as exclusive new Castello furniture with matte overhead cupboard doors and Milan upholstery even on the cab seats, which have upholstery embroidery on the headrests.
Extra equipment in the cab includes a rear-view camera with night vision, a Kenwood multimedia centre with 6.2-inch screen, twin airbags, a host of driving safety features, electric de-frosting wing mirrors, and a thermal sliding and dual-pleat windscreen blind. In the habitation area, there is also a host of extras fitted as standard, including speak-ers in the living area, a built-in extractor hood with LED lighting in the kitchen and, in the washroom, a new thermoformed rectangular basin and a dual-partition to create a private combind space.
The 886F is also fitted with magnetic bench seat backs, for a quick forward-facing conversion. Providing another design touch is the new laminate finish on the kitchen worktop and living room table. Lastly, the bedroom boasts a new fabric headboard with backlighting.
