Motorhome dealer network Marquis buys Martins of Exeter
Marquis, the UK’s largest motorhome and caravan dealer network, has expanded its network with the acquisition of Martins of Exeter, which is situated on a four-acre site with easy access to the M5 at Junction 30. Marquis Exeter, as the new site will be known, officially opened on 28 January.
The new business will have a vast display of new motorhomes from the Trigano Group, including models from Auto-Sleepers, together with the award-winning ranges from Benimar — Mileo, Tessoro, Primero and Benivan — and Mobilvetta. Also making their debut on the Sandygate site over the coming months will be models from the exclusive and award-winning Majestic range of coachbuilt motorhomes.
Geoff Scott, CEO of the Auto-Sleepers Group, said: “Once again being part of the Trigano Group has given Marquis the opportunity to expand its business, especially in such a key holiday destination. Marquis Exeter again represents another significant and sound financial investment for the group, and further consolidation of Marquis’s reputation as the market leader in the UK."
Mike Crouch, MD of Marquis, added: “It is a great pleasure that we welcome the opportunity to acquire such an iconic name in the caravan and motorhome industry. With nearly 100 years’ experience in supplying caravans and latterly motorhomes to the southwest, Marquis Exeter is a super fit into our portfolio. Their customer service and reputation is second to none, and with an approved workshop under the NCC banner means they can cater for a vast range of service and repair work.”
