Le Voyageur Celebrates 45 Years of Luxury Motorhomes
News
It started with the idea of an adventure far and wide. Back in 1981 Georges Sacier was looking for a reliable, elegant and new motorhome for a dream tour.
That dream came true with the Le Voyageur 600 in 1981, which is reported to be the first Mercedes Benz-based fully integrated (also known as an A-class) motorhome. While leisure vehicles with a three-pointed star are much more commonplace now, it must have been a truly special sight to behind back then.
The fact that it was customisable and luxurious is no more remarkable. And those values remain today for Le Voyageur, the flagship motorhome arm of the Pilote Group.

Le Voyageur's choice of base vehicles
The company offers two premium motorhome ranges, the Fiat Ducato Eterna and the Héritage on the Mercedes Sprinter. It is the Héritage range we’ll be focussing on as that has seen the most changes for the 2026 season; however, there are also anniversary edition models to mark the company’s forty-fifth birthday.

Le Voyageur Héritage highlights
For some it’s not a luxury motorhome without a three-pointed star adorning the bonnet, and that’s why Le Voyageur has increased the choice of Mercedes-based vehicles for the coming season. This is married to an Al-Ko chassis, adding flexibility for layout options as well as enhanced driving comfort with a wider rear track and a low frame.
The view from above a Le Voyageur motorhome
To make parking your new pride and joy easier, the Le Voyageur Héritage comes with a 360-degree camera drone view system. This shows a top-down image of your vehicle with no blind spots, even when on the move. Overhangs or tight spaces will no longer be a problem with the system recording views from all four cameras at the same time.
Living in a Le Voyageur
Most of the Héritage models have twin inwards-facing sofas. These are supremely comfortable for relaxing and a table folds in half for access around when not dining. And while most models are tailored towards couples, you can still safely tour with four thanks to hidden belted travel seats.
Storage will be ample, while the 175-litre fridge should allow you to shop at farmers' markets to your heart’s content. In the bedroom, as you’ll expect, mattresses are properly comfy, while 190cm-tall shower compartments are a star feature of the spacious washroom.
Anniversary editions
Celebrating 45 years, all 7.8 models are available to order as a special anniversary edition.
As well as the exclusive branding outside, the interiors feature white high-gloss cabinets and a special leather upholstery with elegant 45 year stitching.
Each model also comes with an exclusive gift pack – there’s a leather folder to help store all the important paperwork, a keyring, bottle cooler, car blanket, two luxury bath towels, four wine glasses, two coffee cups and four leather coasters.
