Get CarPlay and Android Auto in your VW campervan
Launched in collaboration with car audio specialist Kenwood, VW has launched a new navigation and multimedia unit with features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Following in the footsteps of Kenwood’s popular DNX525DAB unit, which has been hugely popular with Volkswagen owners, the latest navigation and multimedia unit is available as an approved dealer fit accessory.
Available from all Volkswagen Van Centres and Authorised Repairers - from the start of this month, the new multimedia unit offers customers the latest in navigation and in-car entertainment technology for their vehicle.
The new Kenwood unit features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Spotify integration alongside full Europe Garmin navigation, Bluetooth hands-free and streaming connectivity, and DAB digital radio tuner. Developed as an evolution of Kenwood’s DNX525DAB Volkswagen aftermarket offering, the new unit retains the standard factory functions such as working with steering controls, displaying parking sensors and reversing camera (if fitted).
The new unit features a 7in high-res touchscreen, DVD, CD, USB, SD card for digital music playback and iPod connectivity, as well as three year free map updates, TMC traffic updates and photo-real junction views to help inform drivers of the road ahead. The navigation system also offers over three million points of interest which are displayed via icons on the map. The cost of the new unit, which includes fitting, is £1,130.50.
