Foldaway table designed for motorhomes
One of the more unusual innovations demonstrated at the Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf came courtesy of Italian companies, Project 2000 and Tecnoform. This was a dinette table that is housed in an aluminium covering on the wall. The table slides up and out and has two flip out wings that further extend the surface. There are no supporting legs, making it easy to get around. When the table is no longer required it simply folds over and can be slid back in.
David Nardini, CEO of Project 2000 said, “We have developed this table together with Tecnoform and are very satisfied with this partnership. The possibility to free, with a single movement, the dinette from the obstruction of the table opens new scenarios in the research for space onboard. When not needed, in fact, the table limits the habitability and represents an obstruction, both in movement and not. This is clear to the British, that have the habit of removing the table and putting it in the wardrobe. Now, even they will have a more simple solution for this purpose.”
The table was showcased in the Fiat Ducato 4x4 Expedition concept motorhome that will also be on display at the Motorhome and Caravan Show at the NEC in October.
